July 23, 20205 yr This is like going back in time to the early 2000s. Glad I read this thread, otherwise I might have bought the boxed version. I was initially very old school when I started gaming relatively late in life in the mid 90s. I defended the whole "boxed product" thing back in those days because I enjoyed owning something tangible to place on the shelf along with the (usually extremely detailed) documentation. But once the media was also then used for security purposes and (it seemed to me at least) that regular patches were required for most games anyway, I gravitated more to the online way of doing things. And once Steam had been going for a few years, I fully embraced it and couldn't imagine going back to the old way of doing things. Mind you, the new machine I built in April this year does have a blu-ray drive. But I only added it for one purpose. And that because it is just simpler for me to do full drive imaging by sticking in a boot CD / DVD that loads the drive image interface, rather than mucking around booting from USB just for that purpose. I just find the DVD way of booting a bit easier but even then it is simply a long held preference rather than objectively making any sense with today's machines!

July 23, 20205 yr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKELBkOlTIw Yes i made this up as well or was it Phil Spencer who made it up. PS MS are hosting a show later today. Edited July 23, 20205 yr by G-RFRY Raymond Fry.

You don't seem to understand the things you post. I know everything about the Xbox Series X and the rumoured Xbox Series S (Project Lockhart) and I also know that at this moment in time, the Xbox Series S does not exist. While the likelihood of it coming out is high, your words of "Only The XBOX Series X has a DVD drive the cheaper version will not all download." Are incorrect as there are no confirmed specs for the Series S considering it isn't official yet. Even the video you linked to doesn't state what you have said. Not only were you wrong on that, but also wrong in the type of drive in the Series X. Please can you post facts, and not something you think are facts as it's confusing to those reading.
July 23, 20205 yr i still stay with my Premium Deluxe Boxed version, for me this is something with value, compared to just a download key & a PDF 😅 Wonder whats inside the book. I also have the PC Gamepass running and there is the pure digital version too...
July 23, 20205 yr I wrote in another thread its more than likely it'll be possible to rip the ISO of the first dvd and mount before running. It should be easy to write a bat script to mount the image then run the executable from clicking a icon on the desktop. I imagine the DRM for the game will be a online code or cdkey. The only con is you'll lose 9gb of hdd space for the image. Hope this helps See below as an example https://superuser.com/questions/1388453/how-to-write-a-cmd-script-to-mount-and-use-iso-file Edited July 23, 20205 yr by Colemanuk82 Example added

Not a good start at all and already a big inconvenience before even running the software. Total paranoia of hoping to protect the software while honest people are inconvenienced and nobody can stop pirating software. At this point (at least for me) just for that reason I will not buy the DVD version and I will not buy a portable DVD unit because they can't figure out how to protect their software in 2020. What other "news" we will find out before release and after? Or you can just buy the download version. Freak out much??? It was referring to yesterday's Xbox Games Showcase show (essentially a replacement for the E3 2020 conference), but nothing regarding the simulator was shown so no need to watch it unless you are interested in other upcoming games as well.

Allright. Thank you for informing me 🙂
