July 31, 20205 yr Hello ryanbatcund, Thank you for your response. If I do purchase this I will go for the premier edition, but I do have a couple of detailed questions: 1. When get I get any sort of manual, PDF or otherwise, hopefully in advance, so I can plan for implementation. I worked with my first computer in 1959 and I learned that planning is everything. 2. I am successfully using 3 screens in surround mode. I find it very helpful to my mode of sightseeing flying VFR. With xp11 I have planned autopilot trips, for example, recreated JFK Jr's ill fated night flight from NJ to Martha's Vineyard. Can I use 3 screens for this new sim? Very important.. 3. From the trailer it appears that there is a lot of importance for scenery near and around airports but I got the impression that scenery viewed by me would be in "real Time". Will everything I fly over on VFR trips, be downloaded to me in real time? Does the downloaded scenery reflect actual visual data or some data from Bing or Go2 photos in a database of some sort. I am in my eighties and this is my hobby not a game but to simulate as much as possible real flying experiences. I did gaming years ago starting with Pong and going through a number of different gaming consoles. Cost is not a problem, one guy in my neighborhood has a pristine awarding winning 1982 Chevy Corvette and the other has a boat - both of which cost way more than the amount I have invested in my flight simulation hobby. Is this the right forum for continuing contact during my journey? Be well and be safe, Otrman AKA Henry

Part of the tester job, and even of costumers, is to be critical. If not, you would be flying on 2D sim nowadays. The entirety of the tester job lies in determining whether what the developers have already chosen and made actually works as intended. Wanting them to have made different design choices might be valid feedback (or it might not be, depending), but that is outside of what you are doing as a tester.

I was talking about bugs, not features. Or features that don’t work as intended, which is a bug for me. Edited July 31, 20205 yr by aleex

August 1, 20205 yr Let's assume some things. On release day some people will have expectations and others will not. Some people will be happy at looking at things and other people will be happy trying everything and there will be a mix of both like myself. Now, when Flight Simulator gets released and the people that like to look at stuff find things that aren't great or missing or not right will either say oh well and the glass is half full or take the opposite approach and feel disappointed and let down. The same thing will be true for people that like to try everything and end up finding things that are either broken, incomplete, or not working as expected will do the same things. Some people will just take the attitude of oh well, it will get fixed in time, others will expect to have a 3PD fix it and others will feel that testers and Asobo didn't do their job. THIS is the fact of any delivered product without knowing all the details. The frustration of one with an NDA and being in the know of things that may or may not be a major issue is that those answers can't happen until AFTER release and AFTER all the screen shots and videos are shown either trying to just show all the hand picked good stuff or focusing on only a few of the smaller bugs. I am pretty sure you will have bugs on release day, the question is how much the bugs matter to someone who cares or not. Personally, I want to be able to fly and do all the basic and advanced stuff that's available and I expect it all to work at a basic level that is being presented and if I want to go further or more advanced, I'm glad there are 3PD's or I can addon myself. If I am unable to complete a flight in one or some of the planes because of a basic system not working, I will feel jaded and it DOES take away from the whole experience but at the same time there is not much I can do and will try and go about using the sim from a different perspective at the same time hoping a fix is right around the corner. August 1, 20205 yr As I said in my previous post I am looking for answers to a couple pre-sale questions. I am not one who is going to get involved in critiquing every detail and do understand than even though a computer program is rigorously beta tested by a significant number of users things will invariably go bump in the night. I wish I could have been a beta tester as I have significant experience there, even managing programs under beta test, and communicating with users willing to test. From what little I know from trailers etc., this sim looks very interesting. However, I have developed a flying style using Xp11 and have been a beta tester of their new Vulkan enhancement. Before I plunk down dollars and start using the new sim, I need answers to a couple basic function questions. My questions, already asked are: I am successfully using 3 screens in surround mode. I find it very helpful to my mode of sightseeing flying VFR. With xp11 I have planned autopilot trips, for example, recreated JFK Jr's ill fated night flight from NJ to Martha's Vineyard. Can I use 3 screens for this new sim? Very important.. Be well and be safe, Otrman AKA Henry Basic scenery is already pre-stored on your PC, but detailed scenery will be downloaded as you need it, and then stored on your PC for future use.. Not sure what you mean by actual visual data.. it comes from a database of some sort, maintained by Microsoft.. Bert

Can this be answered? Is it possible to download a particular region (maybe a small state) by flying over it, and then "caching" this scenery onto my 1tb SSD so that the next day when I fly over this area again, it will not need to be re-downloaded, and if I fly offline, I will still be able to use the detailed scenery? Maybe I am overthinking this, but it would be great if someone has a large enough hard drive to be able to pick and choose different regions, cities, etc to download and keep: ie, grand canyon, NYC area, London, etc 10850K, MSI Unify Z490, 32gb G.Skill Ripjaw 3600 CL16, MSI 5700 XT 8gb, Nochua NH-U12a, WD 500gb Black SSD (OS- Windows 10 Pro), Samsung 2tb Evo plus SSD (games), Superflower 850 watts power supply
