The Nordic countries are on my list too. From what I have seen they look gorgeous.  I think I might be pushing it a bit to hope that they’ve modelled the Northern Lights too 😄

AFAIK they are planning on implementing them, but it's not yet in game.

i will plan each region as I go, being sure to hit all the top destinations, airports, and landmarks as we go with as many local flights in each area as necessary.

I’m guessing this will take at least a year (???) in real time doing a session each evening on average. No idea... I’ll just see how it goes.

Really? Wow! They really are trying to tick all of the boxes. I won’t hold my breath, but it would be amazing. Although I’d prefer for them to crack on with implementing VR first 🙂

Oh, I forgot to mention that I am considering using FS Economy on my flight down to South Africa. I think that would be pretty kewl, but I might have problems getting the correct airframe on the various legs. 

I wanna do an around the world flight. Hitting a bunch of different airports along the way with short flights when possible to make it easy for those crunched for time.

Thinking of sharing the flights but unsure how. Maybe a running post, or a blog, perhaps even YouTube. That way others can fly the same route as me.

I did a 110 leg flight around the world when Orbx global was released in I think 2013. Shared flight commentary and screenshots on the Orbx forums.  Was thinking of doing something of the like again, but that was a LOT of flying...  maybe just a three stopper in the 747 this time.  With time compression.

I am just now finishing my round-the-world (5 legs left).  I started it over a year ago.  Using a Piper Cherokee.

Probably visit every airport in Southern California as a shakedown exercise as I've flown into most of them at one time or another so I have a very good RW baseline to compare it to. If performance is adequate I'll make a youtube series out of it since it's a very diverse and scenic area. Then? I dunno! Maybe something long haul.

I followed the route these guys took:

They used a microlight, pretty similar to an aircraft that will be in MSFS.  I started this before MSFS was even announced.

On the linked page you can see all of the legs they used.  I'm in Tracy, California, on my way to New Orleans Lakefront Airport, Louisiana, where I started oh so long ago.  The roughest part was landing at Vagar, or my side trip to Lukla.  Thank goodness for TAWS on the GNS430.  I stayed on Hainan for a long time, maybe 2 months, doing other things, but I have really moved out in the last 3 months trying to get through Siberia and Alaska before cold weather hit.  I succeeded.

I'd estimate about 2 weeks and I'll be done.  Just need to go thru Lake Havasu City, Page, Colorado Springs, and then a couple of stops on the way to New Orleans.
