>How do you return a download for refund anyway? I have no>idea. really.?You don't actually "return" anything. The vendor simply TRUSTS your word that you've deleted/uninstalled their product. Are there people who "lie?" Of course, but surprisingly few do! People who're inclined to "take advantage" of any vendor's return policy quite frankly would NOT have bought the product to begin with! They would have simply looked for and downloaded it from some "pirate site" and used a "keygen cracker"...I don't think it's so terribly naieve to think that those who actually have a job, a credit card, and a sufficient computer system to run FS are likely to be thieves.

Ernie,I understand about fluctuating currencies, but the people managing the website must be clearer about the price advertized not being the price charged to the consumer. If it says $10.00, then they have to charge you $10.00. If it says $10.00 on page one of the sales page, then it gets up to $11.00 by page threee, they should still charge you $10.00. Here in Canada it's the law, and it's a good law. You pay the lowest advertized price. Period. If it says $10.00 on the label, then you get to the cash and the clerk says that the dollar is fluctuating and now it's $11.00, you pay the lower of the two prices. It's up to the company to manage their advertizing and keep things clear and up to date.

My experience with them is they are just plain more expensive. It has absolutely nothing to do with exchange rate, they just add bucks to the advertised price.Had a similar experience with Norton when I updated my anti-virus.They now have a page for US and Canadian customers. If an order is place on the Canadian page the price is about $4 more than the US price. This is before you even consider exchange.Best to check exchange rates before ordering it would seem.

Hi All,FYI, this was also posted at our forum and I have done my best to explain things and offer Jason a possible solution. No, we cannot always set the exact price in an international marketplace, where exchange rates change on a regular basis. You can all note that SimMarket now is listing the EUR price also. BUT, BUT, BUT that doesn't mean that the exchange rate is going to stay the same forever either. So that means that the USD price WILL change as the exchange rate changes. There is nothing we can do about that.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Jason,It was said in another's post about setting the preference to display the desired currency, but there's even the option of selecting it without editing preferences. When I bought my first Carenado set, I discovered this price difference phenomenon in time to take advantage of it and buy directly from Carenado. I didn't like the Carenado website transaction actually; I was relieved to finish the transaction and get the planes loaded. Because of this experience and others at other developers' sites not giving me a warm and fuzzy feeling, I've CHOSEN on occasion to buy from SimMarket at a couple dollars extra price, just for the peace of mind of a secure transaction. Now, bring me a story about a corrupt download and SimMarket or other site not playing nice to replace it or something like THAT and I'll get fired up right along with you! I get what you are saying but, like my last point, e-commerce transactions should never be set to autopilot, no matter how often you perform them. Think hard and objectively here on this one...meaning it may be in your best interest in the future to buy from SimMarket over some other site. The message behind your post is a good one...shop around and realize you have options. The day that I see a positive credit on my SimMarket "gift voucher" account for being such a frequent customer, is the day that I add the term "loyalty" to my vocabulary and feel compelled to shop there. Don't consider anything about a flightsim purchase as a favor on either side. Likewise, the next person that encourages us simmers to reach out and thank some development team for a product that we PAID for, I'M GOING TO SCREAM! :-grnmd FSJ

I bought this product to. But I saw the price was in Euro.(The internet is worldwide ya know). So I found a EURO to US curency calculator on yahoo(In one search), and figuered out that it was going to cost me a little over $40.00 us. Sound good to me, so I bought it. I was billed exactly what I was suppose to be billed).Sorry you feel screwed. If there's one thing I've learned about shopping online, it's "read it over and over again" Your dealing with a world market. It took my getting screwed on shippin on an ebay item to wake me up :)

JSKorna,Howdy, good of you to join in.I have no beef with you, your products, nor your company, other than that the cost of your products could be made clearer. If it says on page one, right beside all the lovely in-game screens and poetic prose how good your product is, that is costs X-amount, then it should cost X-amount. Page two or page three should not add anything unless it is very clearly explained. Leaving it to the customer to figure out that the page one price is wrong and the page two price is right is either unreasonable or at least unfair. If it says $37.99 on page one, then 33 Euros on page two, Joe Customer is going to assume, fairly, that the page one price is the one he is going to pay. Otherwise, why is that price on page one? And where is the caveat that says that the page one price is subject to changes in the value of the page two currency? If there is a difference between those prices, the customer should pay the lesser of the two. Also, given the nature of net business and net forums where like-minded customers meet and greet, customer satisfaction should be a priority.Be well.

I agree that SimMarket should have refunded the difference. If there own currency tool showed $37.99US, either drop the currency tool or live with its prices. One unhappy customer like this can cost more than a couple euros when they post on avsim...

Hi,It costs $37.99 USD every day when paying USD.If I take my $37.99 South to Canada (yep, from Detroit) can you guarantee that it will buy the same amount of casino chips everyday?Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

>If I take my $37.99 South to Canada (yep, from Detroit) can>you guarantee that it will buy the same amount of casino chips>everyday?>I think the point is the currency converter is on the site.A refund of a couple euros would have resulted in a happy customer, which surely would have been a fair price to avoid this thread?Companies that rely on fine print are not ones I go back to.A Canadian posting a $1.15 exchange rate would honor it, even in the Casino :)

Hi,And indeed a resolution has been offered but no e-mail as of yet. And FWIW, as anyone who's delt with us before should know, we always try to do whatever we can to take care of our customers. This is no exception. We are more than willing to do what it takes to make a happy customer. In any case, I can understand how one can become confused and wish that we could lock in our price at SimMarket in US dollars, but we cannot. The system is in EUROs and despite our attempts at regularly updating EURO price, there's always a difference. We'll be considering and making changes to our website to make this as clear as we can. Thanks,

JackCND has it right. A business trait long being lost. The old man at Wal-Mart built it on principles like Jack just pointed out...and they worked...he built the Wal-Mart that today at the hands of greedy family are plunging it down the tubes because they think they could take ideas that worked right already and make them better...sorry it was at top-of-form already. (My wife has worked for Wal-Mart for years and I have to listen to it ).For all the crap people gave Jason here, as a business person I would have fixed the problem for $4 dollars and some odd cents. I swear my house doesn't track every penny like that and for none the worse. If I'm at work and give a candy bar to a child now and then (for good nature) the business isn't going tango uniform over it and will probably set well with a parent. What really happened here was worse...and a shame! Maybe SimMarket will get rich from it, maybe not? Did our community suffer for it, time will tell?Who do you patronize next and keep their business alive within the flight sim community? I know who I want to keep in business...and not!

I think that what is needed to avoid these issues is a simple notation on your site next to the link to SimMarket that prices sold there are in Euros at current exchange rates.

Thanks
