This release is the epitome of the gaming industry

All releases of FS has played to a whining audience. in fact Avsim itself boycotted FS98 when it was released. Their boycott did not last long and FS98 wound up being of the most purchased and beloved. So far the only two wonderful upgrades in my opinion were FS3 and FS 2020 which were revolutionary. The others were all very good except of course for the first release which was just sort of an interesting lark.

There was a decade when the giant tabloid Computer Shopper could be found in most every supermarket. Some of the full page adds inside were only for business software. Except that Flight Simulator was the lone game to be found too.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

I'm glad they released it I paid the 129 bucks and I'm having loads of fun as it is now.  Sure I want to see bug fixes but I'm not letting that stop me from having fun now.

I do a lot of work in qa/testing and none of the bugs are a shock to anyone.  I bet every one is documented somewhere.

I will also let you in on a little secret, any developers I know of any kind of software has gone to agile development.  That's a complex methodology that means different things to different people, but the core principle is getting out what is called a minimum viable product.  That's marketing speak for "ship it now, fix it later".  On top of it, managers seem to think agile means "work twice as fast".  It means getting something functional out to the customer that might not be complete.

Right, it depends on the industry, for gaming or a Flight Sim, it's generally ok to use the "release now" and "fix later", I mean it's unlikely anyone would get physically hurt. I think Boeing tried the same thing in real aircraft software, and later found out its not such a great idea to always rush things out the door.

AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram

This whole rush / meet dead lines / make money is nothing new to gaming it's the world we live in. Cough cough Boeing's Max. In the real world people rush huge projects with much more at risk than some gamer tossing 100 bucks at a sim/game. Unfortunately this is the World we live in.

This guy is the perfect example of modern day gaming industry stockholm syndrome.

Just because the practice of releasing broken games is common doesn't mean it's right and we as gamers should accept it.

People like that are the reason why such garbage practices are deemed as acceptable.

Sticks and stones, my friend, sticks and stones ... 😉

So is it okay that I'm really enjoying this new sim, warts and all? Am I all alone?

Not at all.  The game has so much going for it and so much promise, honesty I think that's why people are upset.  Everyone can see how good this sim can be (and hopefully will be).

A flight simulator with broken flight dynamics, broken camera views, buggy displays.. the list goes on. If Asobo can't even get these things nailed, then FS2020 is not a simulator, at best it's just a re-hash of Microsoft Flight, the classic arcade game which ultimately crashed and burned.

A rehash of Microsoft Flight? Please be serious.

The comments on AVSim are really no different than those across a wide range of flightsim sites. I personally believe that this will be the only flightsim to use in 6 months. But for now, the people who are ignoring the bugs and issues are either cheerleaders or are also impressed with Google Earth as a flightsim.

Well, six months may be a little optimistic. I won't be surprised to see the typical cheerleading "Hey, it's only been 180 days since the release..." type of comment in response to a valid complaint.  😉
