I just love it. Installation of Premium Deluxe went without an issue. All my peripherals were recognized, ok I didn't like some of the assigned bindings, but that's my problem, so I deleted, what I didn't like and gave my keys new bindings. I haven't tested the heavies, as I'm not much of an airline pilot. I have flown most GA planes (also in Alpha/Beta) and like them a lot. Just did a fantastic flight with the C-208 in Papua to check out the airstrips. Ok, they don't have the ambiance of the payware ORBX products (how could they), but the strips that I have seen and landed on, so far are superb for an out of the box product. And all of them have small huts that grace the strips. In short, I'm very happy with what I have bought !!

How you finding the neo Dave?

Not tried or will try the 3 airliners, there not ready Pete, so its like setting yourself up to fail.

I am using the 152, 172 and the super fast and amazing Shock Ultra.

Going all GA flights for some time and its breathtaking. London city to EGLL late last night with Orbx addons was like nothing Ive seen before. Well I have...when ive done it IRL, lol

2. CTD - in my case, I’ve only been able to fly once without a CTD. Reinstalled : same issue.

Can you provide more info on the CTD?

Hey Bernd

Good to read your feedback. Two questions for you when you have a little time

- PNG and Papua : are there good hubs like Port Moresby or Wanema  and plenty of strips around ?

- what do you think of the Caravan? We hear some genuine bad rap concerning the turboprop modeling in general and the Caravan in particular.

There have been a lot of bugs on release that it does feel a bit like they rushed it out the door, Thankfully at least the most important bugs like premium content not being delivered were fixed in a matter of hours.

I feel like a lot of the complaints and expectations might have been managed better if they'd have pushed it out as "early access" like many other titles have done. Many people were saying they'd immediately uninstall x-plane/p3d/fsx without realizing that it's going to take awhile before the sim and 3rd party addons are ready to fully replace them.

Glad i did not spend a single dime on this disaster. Its the Project Cars under flight games. Maybe next year during a good steam sale. Till then ill stick with racing rF2 and flying DCS

Can I just say as an aside... this seems like a little thing, but the option at the press of one button to clear all of the bindings for a given peripheral so you can configure it the way you want it is something that the P3D developers neglected to fix in almost a decade of development. It gets so annoying every time you connect a controller for P3D to automatically assign buttons (Some of which don't even exist on that controller! My rudder pedals don't have any buttons for crying out loud!), and then make you go through one-by-one to delete all of the assignments you didn't want.

The peripheral UI in MSFS is a little different from what we are used to and a lot of the functionality is hidden a bit, but I appreciate that they decided to take a fresh approach.

It's not perfect, but FS2020 has been more solid on release day than any other sim launch I can recall.

Hi Dominique,

I haven’t been to Port Moresby or Wanema yet, but I guess they are ok to fly into. Are there plenty of strips around? Well, have a look at this map of Papua (the Indonesian and NG side). Every white dot represents an airstrips and those that I have seen so far are all well modeled into the surrounding countryside.

As pictures are worth more than a thousand words, have a look first at Tapini, which we know well from ORBX (if you want to see them larger, click on them twice)

And here is Woitape:

Now let’s go over to the Indonesian side. First Yapil WAUP and then Mindiptana WAQF. I just picked those at random, never visited anyone of them in P3D.

This one, WAQF, is especially tricky to get into. You should give it a try one day

Remember, this is straight out of the box, and I am quite happy with them.

Now, regarding the Caravan, I have never flown in a rw Caravan, so I don’t know much about it. I can only compare it with the Carenado version and for me they are more or less both the same, when it comes to the flight modeling. I haven’t tried the AP yet, because for those short hops I did today, I didn’t need it. I just wanted to find out, how the airstips are. From the looks of it, we will have plenty of fine, but also challenging flying ahead of us.

I would say so too, I had too many CTDs, in different situations.

My Windows 10 is up-to-date, the sim is also up-to-date. My PC is also I would say ok from performance point of view.

I'm yet to have a CTD and i'm on fairly decent but not amazing hardware, I guess I could be lucky in that respect.

I've also noted many users having issues with installation but again, no problems here. In fact, i've installed twice now but not because of an issue with the program, it was more my blindly installing into the default app location without realising. I've since uninstalled and re-installed in a more easily accessible place so I can look at and tinker with the files.

Once you connect a new peripheral and MSFS acknowledges it, it will assign certain bindings to it. That's the impression I got. Unfortunately you cannot delete with the push of a single button all bindings for a specific peripheral, the only thing you can do is to reset to default.

Thanks for taking the time, Bernd, it is appreciated.  That looks very good. And that is coming from somebody who took off and landed in Woitape and Tapini numerous times. Even made a Woitape to Tapini You Tube video with the Comanche !  Good choice ! The mesh is just a little on the coarse/soft side.

I am impressed by the sheer number of strips and specially happy to see West Papua covered.

We « need » to have a true utility turboprop with a map of strips like that  !

I think we are covered. Aerosoft develops its DHC-6 Twotter for MSFS. And if we can also get a decent Kodiak, we should be fine. 😉
