Anyone Else Loving the TBM?

Featured Replies

The G1000 in other planes is cumbersome and difficult to use and work with..especially with no keyboard binding and trackir. the G3000 in the TBM is awesome. Easy to do stuff on the fly, direct tos, waypoint adds, etc, etc...wish they would put out some GTN750 stuff!!

Yup, along with the C208, it's been one of my favs... And I agree, the avionics are easier to use and manage than in almost all the other avionics currently available.

And the anti ice systems? never seen before, it's real! But I don't know if the icing effects are real or just eye candy.

This is my video on the pneumatic anti ice system on the TBM:

Which planes are you referring to? The C172, DA40? Are you saying the G1000 in the TBM is different and easier to use than the G1000 on those other planes? I thought it was the same?

The TBM has a G-3000. It’s a more advanced version.

It’s a G3000. And it’s lovely. The Citation longitude has one too. No more fiddly entry of data with that knob 🙂

Ahhh, didn't know that! I will have to play with it some more then! 🙂 So the only planes with the Garmin 3000's are the TBM and Citation Longitude?

yepthe g3000 is awesome for sim flying. easy to manage waypoints, do freq changes, and the instruments look crisper on my 1080p.

just one Q...does anyone know how the reversers work on this? When I do the toggle reverser button the mixture just goes to idle and the reversers dont sound like they come on.

youre going to love the g3000 compared to the 1000. Its a beaut. Not as much functionality as a real g3000 of course but lots of great features. really have to manage that power on the TBM that thing gets squirrely!

OK.. so help me here..

MFD select PROC and Approach.

I get a list of approaches and a scroll bar on the right.

How do I scroll down?

The knobs do not seem to help..

Yep you can it via two methods:

1.) The first is to use the revers toggle button and then use the throttle forward for the amount of thrust...

2.) Or bind to the reverse trust decrease to an axis and when use the button or key bind you will have full revers trust...

There is dark scroll bar to the right which you can move with your mouse... (sort of drag down or up)

If you have reverse toggle on a button, then after hitting that button, just move the throttle back forward again to add in reverse. When you're done, hit the toggle again. I did a post on how I setup my reverser on my saitek. If you're getting mixture cutoff when you hit the toggle, be sure you don't have something else mapped to the button you're using for reverse toggle.
