(stable, fast rendering engine that has 2x load distance for 3d suitable for flight simulation and not gta v draw distance).

My man, now you're just making up stuff lol

What's incredible about that video is that sometimes you forget which one is real and which one is the sim...... really impressive

And very little of this realism has to do with how high res your ortho scenery is. Asobo knows more about the graphics rendering pipeline than perhaps anyone in the flight sim dev community. They don't know as much about aircraft systems or flight modeling details specific to each aircraft and they have even admitted to this. Let's help them with the stuff they don't have deep knowledge about. Let's thank for the stuff they have already accomplished.

it’s those flippin’ Lizards from Kiribati that are giving Laminar such a big problem!

This video shows why I'm on board with FS2020, real-life vs FS2020 (and keep in mind this is: (1) default out of the box, (2) which you can get for $5/month with xbox gamepass) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_oYh2O5yq0

What's absolutely hilarious is that the real life aircraft is more "all over the place" than the in game one. Something that more than few have complained about in MSFS. Maybe some IRL pilots don't know how their aircraft looks from a fixed camera pov.

I'm no expert but just my amateur observation.

Really ignoring you in general but lets me shed some more knowledge for you please

You can start from 1:00.

Now x-plane

Ultra msfs object draw distance=med-high x-plane object draw distance (since the guy from the video is using a dynamic lod plugin, you can watch the 2 slider on his upper left corner), and even at its highest, x-plane is appears smoother.

Oh btw nice video to show that x-plane's landclass is accurate, some here claimed it to be a fictional world. (Art aside)

You are welcome.

You are beginning to sound like someone trying to sell a whole man on the advantages of becoming a eunuch.  No thank you.

@mtaxp Wow. Thanks for posting those videos. X-Plane looks so flat and cartoonish in comparison. It's not even a debate. Sorry, not sure what point you were trying to make, but I think you made my point better than I could. The lightning really does matter.

I love the way MSFS combines many different techniques to arrive at a believable picture NEVER before seen in a flight sim. That's the future. It's not about the most high resolution ortho. It's about lighting effects, ground textures, autogen, photogrammetry, shaders, screen space reflections, screen space ambient occlusion, upscaling, temporal anti aliasing etc

And, frankly, this product could simply slip in higher res ortho on the fly. Tuesday you're flying over what we have today (which is getting raves from most) and Wednesday you log in and the entire world's ortho is different, and EVERYONE benefits. There's no reason to believe this won't happen.

The firsy comment on which i can 100% agree.

But that has nothing to do with draw distance, which is crucial for a claiming to be perfect for VFR flight simualtor. So again, no need for "i have no knowledge in what you are talking about but lets be part of the herd and bash every x-planer"

That X-Plane video of New York looks like the graphics from one generation ago. If that is how X-Plane renders New York, then MSFS is truly one generation more advanced than X-Plane in graphics.

Is this X-Plane video using Vulkan?

A moment of being serious, why every comment by you and many others here are so toxic? Like i hit a nerve or something.

Talk about the content, if not, you really are not impressing anyone behind a pc monitor rather hunting for upvotes like a little tiktok girl, rest assured that disrespect aint tolerated by me face 2 face.

No one cares about the metric that Austin told you to care about. We care about what looks real vs what doesn't. Sorry, but the whole paradigm has shifted.

Yes, 11.50.

Vulkan is not about graphics, its about performance foundations for a graphics update.

So draw distance aint important for *Visual* Flight Rules.. cool, gta v is realsitic in that term too, it even have a damage model :-○

I was looking at screen shots of older versions of MFS trying to figure out which version that looked like.  But even FS2000 looks better.
