August 25, 20205 yr You gotta feel sorry for the guy, msfs is no different to any other program, he could get his panels etc to work, if he was bright enough, but sadly..........
August 25, 20205 yr I think most of us here know this is an obvious troll, but someone passing through from a Google search might not. So: Yes, the game has issues, however 90% of what OP describes is literally a failure to do some basic research and subsequently a failure to take the time to set up the control sensitivities properly, assign buttons and keys to an intuitive control scheme, and learn how to operate the Garmin autopilot. I have been a diehard Xplane loyalist for over a decade and I approached this sim with skepticism. Knowing that there were issues with the way the airplanes behaved out of the box I took the time to adjust the control sensitivities until the 172 flew like the 172s I've flown in real life. Then I set to familiarize myself with the differences in the G1000 in MSFS versus the payware Garmin hardware I was used to in Xplane as well as familiarize myself with the Collins system in the CJ. Since then I've done Teterboro -> Salina, KS -> Van Nuys in the CJ4, Sonoma to Santa Ana and Santa Barbara to Bishop in the TBM, a little strip in Joshua Tree to KPOC in the King Air, and several IFR cross country flights in the DA62, 172, and DA40. Yes, some functionalities are missing, these are far from study level models, but there is absolutely no reason you cannot replicate those actual flights from ramp to ramp using the autopilot from 500 AGL and achieve a successful and realistic flight. So, to the reader coming from an outside perspective, be wary of the doomers. You can try the game for a month for a buck. Make up your own mind. And a text editor still trying to figure out the correct order of scenery_packs.ini I was an avid X-Plane supporter, it is a good sim and the Ortho craze really extended the useful life of it, but for the love of all things on this earth scenery_packs.ini is literally the bane of my flight sim experience all these years. I had a less frustrating time in FSX trying to eliminate blurries then I did whoever was the spawn of the devil who created the concept of scenery_packs.ini. XP has a diehard loyalist flock when P3D or FS20 or Aerofly have a simmer community. Nothing new under the sun, the FSX and P3D forums have seen this kind for twenty years now.
