Patch Version 1.7.14.0

Featured Replies

So I suspect that the Xbox Launcher/Steam Launcher update patches the executable files and the files needed for it which includes the installer stuff etc.  The 87kb file can be whatever fix they had to apply to stuff that the launcher downloads (Maybe the simconnect modules) or some file in some panel or gauges that causes stability issues.

Two weeks for 100+ software developers to get a 333mb patch out the door. Well done lads, well done indeed. Absolutely brilliant work going on there.

LOL. Well its the first time for them releasing something this size...

MSFS2020, 24, Fenix A320,  Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 ,G.SKILL 64GB 6000MHz CL28

I also have 333mb package in MS store and that's it.

Mistake

There is a lot more to bug fixing then the size of the patch.  Most of the time is identifying where the issue is coming from and figuring out how to code the fix.  You get the joys of going "Here is 10000 different PC configurations that all have install issues try and find what is the commonality between them all and what we need to do to fix it"

Are you new to software development? Size=/=Time to develop.

For Steam users, will patches come via Steam or via the FS launcher?

Each patch changes the name of the process, so it will need to be updated each time.

They are pretty well known for working to Valve time.

We don't know because there is no patch for steam yet

Patch deployment is up to the developer/publisher, not Valve.

The size of the patch does NOT denote the time and efforts to fix any of those bugs.  How do you know from a deep technical level what each of those fixes actually entails???  Sick of the constant doom merchants like yourself to be honest. To release a patch of any kind two weeks after release is bloody good going in my book!!
