September 11, 20205 yr AIO - Arctic Liquid Freezer II. Excellent combination of price, performance and noise levels - check out review on Gamers Nexus and other sites. Also no RGB which is a positive in my books. Only thing to be careful of is case headroom clearance as you'll need about 65mm clearance and not all cases would have that.
September 11, 20205 yr Go with something in the Corsair Pro series. I put a Corsair H100i Pro in my new systems and it has stayed amazingly quiet. So quiet that I have on several occasions looked into their app to see if it is actually working. For the same reason I can recommend the Corsair RMX850X power supply. Both were recommended to by a consultant in Microcenter's Build Your Own center. The previous model H110i (not Pro) in my previous system was not at all quiet. So I am very happy with the Pro. And the PSU is important as well. What circulation does the case provide (fans and direction of flow)? What is the overall airflow and airflow options through the case taking the cooler into consideration? Is the PSU shielded so that its heat production is isolated? And if so does the PSU efficiently and quietly provide adequate self-cooling? And what about system decibel level under load? Does it drown out aircraft sounds and flight environment sounds or communication with ATC? Sometimes it's not the size.... It's the overall result. But all other things equal, more surface area on, and airflow through the radiator equates to better CPU cooling, certainly within a particular manufacturer's series (e.g. H100i vs H115i vs H150i). In this case, bigger is generally better. That's especially important when running 8+ core overclocked CPUs. Also, a larger radiator will allow lower fan speeds to achieve the same thermal transfer capability as its smaller brethren, which means quieter operation. Quiet operation is not the holy grail, from my perspective...many AIO coolers, including your H100i Pro, are so quiet because their stock fan curves are set to allow the system to get a lot hotter than it needs to in order to stay quiet. I have an H100i on a 7700K, and it'll stay dead quiet at stock settings, but the tradeoffs are considerably higher temps under load. The smaller AIOs are prone to having their fluid act as a heat reservoir, and a fan curve that lets coolant temps build up before the fans step up can be problematic. PSUs are rarely an issue w/r/t system cooling, as the airflow through most is not routed through the case at all, with the air inlet located in the bottom and the exhaust out the back.
