Thanks!

You no longer ave to save a plan in order to fly it.

But he may want to save it to fly  later or indeed, again.

Thanks.

I actually want to be able to export it to Navigraph charts do I can display the flightplan on the moving map. I know I can also create it in Simbrief and import it to MSFS and Navigraph, but I want to see what I end up with using both methods.

I don't think it's in the community or packages folder by default. I think default is in users\username\Appdata\Microsoft flight Simulator\ or something similar (I'm at work right now and can't check).

But, you can save them anywhere you want by browsing to the folder you want when saving.

That sounds like a better idea. I haven't tried saving one yet, because I didn't realize that they weren't automatically saved when I created them.

When you go to save it should show you the default path, at least it does when saving a flight.

Only problem is that all the files in the MSF directories (including LocalState and Community) gets encrypted and you can not even copy files you created yourself from these directories. Very frustrating as I want to keep backups of some of my files. Has anyone found a way around this or is it something I did wrong during installation.

Have you looked through the topic subject headers here and in the MSFS tips and tricks forum?

Community folder is for mods, not flight plans.

I have the Steam version of the game and by default, the flightplans are stored at C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator. I changed it in the past as you can tell the World Map flightplanner where to load from or save from, but went back to using the default location as that way I don't have to tell MS every time I load or save a flight plan.

The external map and flight planning program I use is FS-FlightControl. I just set that to use the same directory for flight plans in it's settings. If your external flight planning software doesn't allow you to set a path to the default MSFS flight plan location, you could always just make a windows shortcut to that folder.
