Checking for Updates Screen

Featured Replies

I now see a Checking for Updates window popup during loading of the sim. Is this new with the recent update, or did I somehow enable something without realizing it. It's not important, just curious.

I also see a Legend associated with the World Map -- don't recall seeing that before either.   Age problem, maybe?  🤔

I see the "Checking for Updates" message popping up as well.  I didn't notice the Legend with the world map but will definitely check when I can load the sim again.  (after work...)

Seeing it too..

Ah, well maybe they decided to show us what has been going on behind the scenes to help explain why loading takes as long as it does.

Al

I'm sure this has always been there for me.

Maybe it means "More Updates to come".. 🙂

We can only hope...!

I've also noticed that if I turn on Developer Mode to see the FPS display, and then turn Developer Mode off, the FPS display stays on until the sim is rebooted. I would expect exiting Developer mode would immediately turn off the FPS display.

Al

EDIT: Developer mode seems to go on and off as expected once I load an a/c.

EDIT EDIT:  Now doesn't work again -- sigh.

It's always been there, but the 1.7.14.0 patch temporarily removed it.

That may explain it, I don't think I downloaded MSFS until after the first patch.

Agree -- just tried it again and this time could not turn off the FPS display -- buggy I guess.

I'm getting the message too. 😀

Memo to ASOBO: This actually makes the sim take longer to load.
