Flytampa Sydney V2

Featured Replies

I'm going back to P3d these days so will definitely buy this, sure 2020 is great for some sightseeing etc but the romance has warn off now. As a sim 2020 is just far too console like for me especially the handling.

Give it 12 months and I will probably or hopefully change my mind !

I would love to see some more updated FlyTampa US sceneries.  Are they just going to shock the sim world with atlanta, or is it dead?

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

I am almost embarrassed to say that I don't own any fly Tampa scenery.
A good Sydney would complement my current Orbx offerings.
What sort of performance do other FT big airport sceneries have? Better or worse than Orbx offerings?

Cheers

You should be! 🙂

Performance is generally very good. However, it depends on your PC and which scenery it is.
For me, Boston, Copenhagen, Dubai, Hong Kong and Montreal play extremely well - can maintain at 30 FPS locked and in the mid-30s FPS when unlocked (with AI traffic and weather).

Las Vegas and Sydney have some performance impact (lose 5-7 FPS), but both run at about 27 - 28 FPS.
For comparison, Orbx Melbourne runs at a similar level.

Toronto is the worst FT performing for me (low 20s FPS), though I believe it's just down to being one of the dog performing locations (like default London) in P3D.
Orbx Brisbane performs similarly poorly for me.

AMD Ryzen 5800X3D; MSI RTX 3080 Ti ; 32GB Corsair 3200 MHz; ASUS VG35VQ 35" (3440 x 1440)
Fulcrum One yoke; Thrustmaster TCA Captain Pack Airbus edition; MFG Crosswind rudder pedals; miniCockpit FCU; CPFlight MCP 737; Logitech FIP x3; TrackIR

MSFS; Fenix A320; A2A PA-24; HPG H145; PMDG 737-600; AIG; RealTraffic; PSXTraffic; FSiPanel; REX AccuSeason Adv; FSDT GSX Pro; FS2Crew RAAS Pro; FS-ATC Chatter

I have great performance with YBBN and ymml in v5 with the exception of dialling down the settings in the config.

30fps all the way!!!
I have powerful system thou.

I think the same way. I have made a decision to fly the NGX and any heavies in P3d and then fly GA in MS2020.

I am i the same boat. I'm going to continue flying the heavies in P3D although right now I am on an around-the-world tour using the Aerosoft Bus in v5. Sydney is one of my planned destinations so I am hoping they will release it soon, whatever "soon" is.

@Howard, a quick question on your Crosswind rudder pedals.

Did they get configured and set up correctly in MSFS?

I havent jumped on the new sim bandwagon just yet, but would be curious to know if there were any setup issues you encountered? Am looking to purchase some new pedals that would work in both P3D and MSFS.

Thanks.

I'm quite sure to buy it for P3Dv5. As long as MSFS has no premier league passenger jets, I won't buy larger airports anyway.

No problems at all Mark. They configure just great. Only issue I had, and still have, is the clumsy and unintutive GUI for configuring hardware and cameras!
