Is there a way yet to completing remove the icing effect - both visual and in terms of aerodynamic effect?

An old post I know but I am quite impressed with the icing effects when I tried three times to go less then three hundred miles in the Cessna 172. The last time I had the sense to turn around at the first sign of ice, land and let the ice melt off the airplane before another try.

To remove icing effect, go to OPTIONS --> ASSISTANCE --> FAILURE & DAMAGE --> ICING EFFECT --> ON / VISUAL ONLY.. and you're done..

For a quick fix while flying...open Developer Mode. In the drop down options there is a slider showing ice accumulation in real time. Keep sliding it left (to zero) until you can get out of icing conditions. It's a pain in the butt but the ice removal is immediate. Band-aid fix only.

This will become important for me when the Realair Turbine Duke (TDV2) becomes available.

Good luck with that 😄

Go to control panel, highlight MSFS, click uninstall. 😉

Anyone have additional insight on this?

The visual effects on the A320 seem to be wildly out of whack. Why does it seem like an impossible task for Asobo to just remove them?

These mods just became available over at flightsim.to.

It says it stops windscreen icing on default aircraft, and he has also done the Mooney.  The author knows it isn't realistic, but he has done it for those who don't like the windscreen effect.

Not sure if it prevents ice on the rest of the aircraft  - not tried them myself yet!

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I've been wondering about this as well. I turn on all of the deicing equipment yet I get so much ice on the windshield that I just simply cannot see outside from the cockpit. Some approaches I have to fly from the outside camera view...
