I wonder if that means Lightning will now work in Live weather.

Oh it works alright! Problem now is that you will get lightning even when weather conditions don’t call for it. They need to do some fine-tuning in this new effect.

I click the AP button and no YD 🤷‍♂️

Strange. I can't make it go wrong. I can select YD, then AP or select AP and YD automatically comes on. I tried a different plane then came back to the TBM, still no problem.

I can't think why it's happening to you. I have no mods for that aircraft (or any other, apart from liveries).

I will be annoyed if they have effected the only plane I fly; the autopilot was working fine before on the TBM....

I did a two-hour flight in the TBM post-patch and no autopilot issues at all. I don’t use time compression which always runs the risk of causing unstable behavior in any sim.

Yeah that was a bit of a shocker! At least we all know what the effect looks and sounds like...

Yep, I noticed my object LOD was changed from 100 before to 25 after the patch. I don't think it changed my render scaling, but I'll have to go back and check.

Gotta hand it to Asobo, that's a sneaky way to fool people into thinking there's been a performance improvement! 😏

I thought that too for a minute, until I noticed the LOD was looking terrible and I went into graphics settings to check it.

None of my graphics settings changed at all. I made screen caps of all of them before the patch, and rechecked them immediately afterwards.

I would love for them to do that before releasing a patch for a change. I'm tired of being used as a free beta tester. Normally I would want to get payed for this.

Be careful using the VFR map in general, seems to CTD randomly when opening/closing.

Yes it happened 6 times already. It never crashed before the update.

Yep, it was messed up in the last patch. I posted a suggestion earlier, which is to go to NVIDIA control panel, select AA mode as "override application setting", apply FXAA and 8x anti-aliaising. This works better than TAA currently does, even though TAA used to do the job even better than that. It also works a heck of a lot better than the FXAA built into the sim, which is shocking.

The other interesting thing about overriding the sim's AA is that I can now use 2K resolution without a performance hit, it seems...

This!

Just had my first CTD from selecting the VFR map. And I was just 6 miles from landing in Orkney from Shetland!🤬

I have also had my first CTD with this new update doing the same thing selecting the vfr map

Did some flying in DC just now (where we are getting tons of rain right now) and i'm getting tons of lightning and not a single drop of rain. I even flew west to go in the direction of the storm, because maybe there is a delay in the weather, still no rain but plenty lightning.  This is frustrating because its like they added the lightning and took away the rain lol i'll take the rain if i had to choose.

Edit: To add, its not even lightning here...just pouring rain...

Well, it does run smooth and it looks great too, but unfortunately (which you can just make out in this pic and its suspiciously dark cockpit), with the avionics still prone to conking out, frankly it's about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Pretty bad that this glitch wasn't sorted, since it is hardly a minor issue. We are after all, three patches into this thing and actually being able to use avionics is a fairly fundamental part of flying an aeroplane, not to mention that it knocks out your ability to contact ATC as well. These guys need to get their act together on this issue.

JJHTjkc.png

Set the traffic AI to generic and the avionics won’t conk out, it’s a bug but with easy work around for now...

I posted a really positive review of the latest patch earlier in this thread. I'm still positive but... I have discovered a pretty bad bug, I think.

The water reflections are broken. There is no light reflecting in the water but (and here is the weird part, see screenshot below) the light from aircraft tail light reflects off the water from a starting point at the shoreline a mile & a half away spreading out towards the viewer (ie: me behind the plane) ?? Something has gone wrong with their update of the water surface reflections, for sure!

Thx

Yea, but Malaga (LEMG) is not "really" fixed. They at least now have added the second runway that is new, but the bing maps aerial of where the original runway is located is still censored and was not included.

You have a terminal and taxiways that lead to nowhere. So, yes, we have SOMETHING at LEMG now, but it is only a partial frankenstein.

That is not to say I do not agree with you... it is a real shame that these civil airports are being chopped at the knees by some military installations nearby. The most frustrating thing is that this was never an issue in any prior sims. All of a sudden, we have this problem.

Well but in previous sims they were hardly photo realistic... that makes a difference.

Since update - all custom flights crash. Nothing happens.

Now, I did install the CH Pedals - they are operating in USB Game Controllers and seen in FSM settings...  but no joy when try to create a flight.

Landing Challenges are OK, but rudder doesn't work.

Is this down to the rudders, or the update?
