Pretty bad that this glitch wasn't sorted, since it is hardly a minor issue. We are after all, three patches into this thing and actually being able to use avionics is a fairly fundamental part of flying an aeroplane, not to mention that it knocks out your ability to contact ATC as well. These guys need to get their act together on this issue. Agree re the failing avionics, but I made the forum fix for that and haven't had it happen since i did... I know it "needs" fixing, but currently for me it's not affecting flying as such.. OK that's not really good, but it's livable until they do find a fix... it's the ones that there is no fix for that really hack me off. Graham System specs... September 29, 20205 yr Honestly, previously I was kind of defending Asobo but now, for example knowing there is an issue with the VFR map and nevertheless went ahead with the release, is not professional IMO. Sure the release date was set, but if I was a product manager and I know such issue will explode some anger, I will retain from the release few days until is fixed. The world is not collapsing and we can wait. Also, now they broke the AI building (bug is here to vote) which makes me questioning their quality assurance. If they don't have the capability, then they can proceed with the alpha testing for the updates in order to avoid a s*** storm of complains and bugs. I am curious how their product manager thinks. I need to figure out the source of the CTD. You are not loading the Nav Map during a flight are you.. that's a known issue listed in the patch notes that causes an instant CTD. If you load the nav map at start of flight, it's OK but not during 🙂 Graham System specs... September 29, 20205 yr So, First download was about 22GB. No idea what that was about. It is now downloading what i presume to be the patch at 7.39GB. Any body have an idea why it would download the 22GB?
September 29, 20205 yr Finally got the patch downloaded. Have to say this was the smoothest process so far, stable speeds, no restarting downloads, and no decompression that kept freezing my HDD. The water waves look better now, still a bit too smooth at very low wind speeds, but there's a more gradual transition now so an improvement from last patch. However at very high speeds the waves look glitched unfortunately, and I shall file a bug report about this. There's certainly something wrong with the anti-aliasing, and it's visible the most while in the hangar showcase. I have the feeling that they boosted the sharpening filter even more. I'll try again tomorrow after turning it off (as I usually do but the patch reset this setting for me) and see if the TAA algorithm remains the same. Can't say I noticed any changes in the manual cache UI, and painting cached areas is as tedious as before, but it seems that some of the freezing is gone. LOD behaviour doesn't seem to have changed for me, but then I have it set to 25 per the Low-End preset.

September 29, 20205 yr My experience with the patch so far has been mostly very good. - Japan looks great - General performance seems better - waves and shorelines look much better - live weather feels much improved - small improvements like missing airports, etc appreciated the bad.. - VFR map crash sucks! - tall buildings in wrong locations bug not so good! Feeling very positive about MSFS and Asobo going forward! Cheers 4790k / 16gb / 1080ti / lotsa ssd's / 1440p / TM Warthog & Tflight Pedals

Graham If that's the one regarding deselecting AI model options and some and ground stuff, then I am aware of it, but unfortunately it doesn't work all the time. Even if it did, it's still pretty poor form to release a flight sim where it initially works upon release, but then not one, but two patches break something as fundamental as being able to navigate and talk to ATC. If it was something like the nav lights not working or perhaps a control surface animation being missing or whatever, that wouldn't be so bad since it wouldn't actually prevent you from carrying out flights, but a flaw which actually prevents you from carrying out simulated flights, in a flight simulator, is worthy of more attention than simply remarking that it's a 'known issue' on the patch notes, and this without any indication of when they intend to do something about it. I don't know what planet Asobo and Microsoft are living on where they think this is even remotely acceptable. It's shockingly bad customer service, not to mention being appallingly unprofessional in just about every way possible. September 29, 20205 yr My 4th attempt flying on the airbus from Tokyo to Osaka...No CTD This time...so far The only change I did was I went from my Graphic settings that was close to Ultra to generic High. I don't have the best card as yet.. I do have the top of line PC (CPU/MB/Memory etc) Just the graphics is an AMD Radeon RX 580 with 8 GB Video memory. So this may not be the sim problem but my problem... Let me continue the flight..If I finish it, then I know I can manage it with slightly lower settings until I get my video card. Edited to add: I made it...no CTD. It was 0/0 visibility and I crash landed but walked away...LOL 🙂 Edited September 29, 20205 yr by Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
