Is it me or is the 787 completely useless and unflyable?

Featured Replies

I can get it off the ground.  After that the Autopilot is deadly and there is zero elevator control.

I wouldn't say completely useless.  Some people have figured it out to some degree, I'm certainly not one of them.

No, that's the 737 MAX. Or were you talking about MSFS? 🤣

I find it to be completely unstable.

I think the reason the flight models are so jarringly bad, even though airliners were pretty poor in previous version of MSFS, is that they look so good

Normally in a flightsim you'd expect an airliner looking as good as the 787 to be study level, not the absolute bag of rocks it is in this sim

Make sure you don't use Active Pause with it. If you do, this is the result when you un-pause the sim:

Ive only done one flight in the 787 and it was not brilliant.  Given that this airplane was only even rolled out to the beta like four days before they released the sim, I don’t think it is fully baked yet.

I love MSFS 2020 and I think it is the best thing for flight simming in a long time. Having said that.... The airliners suck....

Well, to be fair, the real thing sucked when Boeing first made it too. Cracking wing spars on flight tests, battery units bursting into flames, drilling the wrong sized holes for the fasteners in some of the panels. Makes Asobo's effort look quite professional in comparison. 🤣

Agreed with you guys, it is very frustrating that the 787 looks so good and flies so bad not to mention how bad now the VC shadows are with latest patch. Perhaps this plane was my decision factor to buy the premium deluxe edition along with the Longitude now ruined too.

The default a320 is the hands down best default airliner ever released with a sim.

Yes french planes are well modeled in the sim along with the TBM, I know Airbus is a consortium.

I have been flying 787 often. Its limited on the automatics for sure, but I don't like teleporting country to country. Manual fly it for takeoff, climb and ILS approaches.

Most of my approaches look like that anyway
