November 11, 200619 yr I thought I'd share a little personal information in my life with my flightsim brothers and sisters.Well, it all started on the honeymoon. My new wife (hereby referred to as Mrs. X) and I didn't get along too well. She is too demanding and no matter how much I compromised with her, she still demanded more. But, you know, because I love Mrs. X, I ignored that and figured I'd give her all of my time and attention in hopes that we'd be happy together.Look, I know marriage is a sacrifice and there is give and take, but hey I've got feelings too right? But from day one, she won't listen to me, she requires constant attention and we never actually get a chance to enjoy the relationship. She's always yelling and screaming for more and if I try a little romantic night of flying, she always has a headache and refuses to budge.Do you think its right? Every day, she wants her cfg file tweaked and she wants her sliders massaged and she wants her textures removed and compressed. And just when I think I've made her happy then she wants her xml files removed and bgl files replaced. Come on man, am I not a human being? If you cut me do I not bleed? If you you drop down to 5 FPS on final approach to KLGA, do I not cry???So, last night, I figured it was time for a heart-to-heart talk. So there is Mrs. X sitting in front of me. We start a decent conversation and I try to tell her my issues in hopes of working it out but then all of a sudden she starts stuttering and pausing and totally ignoring everything I try to do! She says that she doesn't care and as far as she's concerned I can stick to bush flying with my 747 because she refuses to let me fly into any major city because she's not putting out more than 10 FPS unless I reduce my AI, autogen, ground traffic and scenery complexity!WHAT? I said, oh, so now you're not gonna put out??? And if that weren't bad enough, she asks me for $1000 for a new high end DX10 video card a new power supply to support it! She says IF I get her these things, MAYBE she'll think about putting out, but I'd have to wait and see.Well, my friends, that was the straw that gathered no moss in MY book! If the shoe's going to be on the other hand, then a penny saved is a rolling stone and there's just no two way's about it.I neatly packed up Mrs X's stuff and put it all in a DVD case which was placed neatly on my bookshelf and reached for the phone to call my divorce attorney. What do you think? Do you think it's cheaper to keeper her or should I just boot the old bag out the window and go back to my ex-wife Mrs. 9 in hopes of regaining that magic we've had together for the last four years? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Battered and Broken.
November 11, 200619 yr Hey...Mike. You are married to my X I believe.:)Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 11, 200619 yr So u are the guy my Mrs X is cheating with. I thought I had her in a safe self contained DVD case in a bookshelf awaiting a SP fix.Well it looks like these attorneys are going to make out big !!!!Andy
November 11, 200619 yr Well I'd talk to her family first, as you are doing. As her brother I would suggest she has been like that since her birth. You new it when you married a long time ago.You fell in love with her character, and for the way she made you feel as you did things together. Whether they were good times or troubles times, you did them together. Over the years you have learned to live with her quirks, and enjoyed many quality moments with her.As she gets older, she has matured and so have you. You understand more about her, and how to work with her in times of need and crisis. This understanding you have for her, will help you rebuild your relationship. When you are down and frustrated always rememeber you can always come to us as family, as we always are willing to help you make your relationship work.I think you have many years left ahead, and usually its the later years of marriage that are truley the best. If you look at where you were at when you first met, and look at where you are now - I'm sure its not all that bad.I would give it patience brother, and you never know - it might just be that time of the month ;)Regards'Garett.PS: IF my wife reads this she's going to think I have completly lost it. Tell here its another Garett from the UK or somewhere.

Uhm, I thought you sorted out your conjugal problems by giving her some RTM drivers as a present...Marco "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

November 11, 200619 yr Yeah, that was last week. Today she asks me: "What have you done for me LATELY?". With that she spun on her heel and went back to 15 second stutters inbetween the 25fps!SHE HATES ME! :-samurai
November 11, 200619 yr Sounds like some women I've had in my life......and (stupidly) buying the shiny new sports power supply and 3500 sq ft new cpu did not solve the problem. After that, she only wanted more...more...more. A 4-core-bedroom house. And yet, the 4-core-bedroom house did not help matters, since all that we could use in the first place, was 1 bedroom at a time!RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
November 11, 200619 yr }( You need breathing space Mike, I suggest you seperate for at least 1 year so things can settle down.I don't know how the relationship with the ex-wife is but maybe its not to late to get back into contact with her. There are so many good things you had together and you 2 always looked like such a nice couple.Much wisdom Mike.
November 11, 200619 yr You could also have two wives and use them for what they are best at-and leave when not... :-)http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
November 11, 200619 yr Mike, staff is sending you AVSIM Form 7291B (Beneficiaries Selection) and forum 7245A (Disharmonious Spousal Waiver and Liabilities Release) for your updating and signature. Also, form 0001 (Sanity Check) - you know, the one that you filled out when you volunteered to become AVSIM Staff, will need to also be reread and updated by you (cause your post above clearly shows that you have lost it, and so have all the jabronies that have posted in response!!! And Form 0001 specifically precludes that)."Well, my friends, that was the straw that gathered no moss in MY book! If the shoe's going to be on the other hand, then a penny saved is a rolling stone and there's just no two way's about it."... cracked me up. Best laugh I have had this week. :-lol
November 11, 200619 yr Dear Mike, Feeling sorry for you . . . (I shouldn't, as you haven't even returned my emails of late) I had a long talk with Mrs 9 for you. Gee, it was tough, cause when you kicked her big butt out, for that new hussy, she was really T'd off. She called you just about dirty word in the book, (that's the FS manual for love and contentment), but decided that even though you broke her heart, for a younger model, she would consider taking you back.Ohhhhhh, yes, my friend. There ARE stipulations. Nothing is free, however in the long run, you will be much better off with Mrs. 9, as you know she comes with just about every option that is available in the market and althought she is rather high maintenance, she is worth it.So, go get on your knees, apologize to the lady, give here a really good shagging --- er, that's defragging-- and all will be forgiven.PS, my bill is in the mail -- divorce mouthpieces are never cheap.Drachttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. November 12, 200619 yr Well..I don't know about marriage and divoce...but my copy of X is pretty kinky. Currently I'm having a threesome with me, X and FS9 (there is room for all three of us..)... And I figure if things get dull that way..we might even add a fourth (X-Plane)...that way we'll all get "satisfied".. ;)BeachAV8R
