That version does not include the main "Fall" folder.

User needs to create a new folder called "Fall" or "Fall Season" Then extract the contents into the folder.

Edit: When I add the "," and go to save the file, it wants to save it in my System32 folder! This can't be right, yes/no?

When I close notepad it then asks me if I want to save it in my AppData -Local-Temp folder!

Both files are available to download at the original link I provided.

You don't need to edit the files. Just place them in community folder.

Version 1.2. Both files are in there. Just place them in community folder.

You have to create a folder (for example "Fall") inside your Community folder and put all in it, to have at the end :

Community\Fall\vegetation\10-asobo_biomes.xml
Community\Fall\vegetation\15-asobo_biomes_cities.xml
Community\Fall\layout.json
Community\Fall\manifest.json

Yes, I have a folder called "Fall", inside of which a folder called "vegetation" and two json files.

Point me to somewhere in northern Hemisphere to find Autumn colours, please?

Looks great, I don't know how to post screenshots here but I flew into Halfmoon bay and it looked awesome. Subtle, but noticeable and realistic. 

Works perfect, but wasn't it supposed to be regional? I have autumn trees also in the southern hemisphere now...

All those areas have fall colors. You may not notice it if you fly at 10000 feet. Fly lower to see it.

Make sure you have the latest version:

The whole world - minus few tropical areas, should have fall colors now.
