Do we not need more MSFS sub-forums?

Featured Replies

Topics are spinning out of sight so fast because of the volume of topic and message traffic .  We have no forums other than this main forum and the Tricks & Tips and VR forums.  There is no other organization.  I recommend we open up suggestions for key sub-forums to help us parse this almost runaway creature...

You probably should add:

- gratuitous screen shots, pictures of cute kittens playing with the yoke in a Piper Warrior, and random YouTube videos of people flying upside down in an Airbus under the Manhattan Bridge

Please don't. Thanks. The MSFS forum gets busier when a patch is released and then calms down. Balkanizing the forum just makes it harder to find things.

Nah, we don't need a ton of sub forums, it'll just make it tedious to navigate. There has to be twenty other topics on the go before one drops off onto page two, and even then it is not hard to look on page two to find something.

Yes we don't need them.

Err, no we don't need them.

I think we need just one new forum: for the foaming-at-the-mouth, ranting, raging, intolerant and uncivil dedicated MSFS-bashers, of which I have had more than enough. Just a thought.

Both these forums and the official forums are already divided into a plethora of sections.  I find more sections just makes it harder to keep track of topics you care about.

BLUF: We haven't done that with any simulator forum before, nor are we about to start now.

We have tags that can be (but for some reason rarely are) used to highlight trending topics without partitioning them off and creating problems accessing and managing the information.  Today's hot topic that might be considered by some to be worthy of its own subforum becomes tomorrow's dead letter bin.

Over the years, my experience is that many of the good ideas and looks at new stuff I didn't even know I'd like were discovered when I was looking for something else or just reading the mail.

Anyway, the topic has come up many times before, and this is AVSIM management's position on it.
