AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

Hello. Is there anyway to port over any any fighter jets capable to do carrier landings? I'm afraid to just drop one in the Community folder. I just can't se myself landing GA on a carrier !!

Any ideas, or just wait MSFS to include one?

Thanks,

Mike

MSFS

Yeah, I hear ya. Maybe someday. That's where P3D has it's own purpose. They are for 2 different reasons, that's why people shouldn't even compare them.

I think you could make a WASM module to make a carrier work.  Watch the GPS coordinates of the aircraft and apply an acceleration for a second at the catapult location and a deceleration at the wire location.  Would need the carrier and the aircraft to come together as a package.

AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals

so is this carrier at a static location you land on or do you pilot the carrier?

I made this.

It's just a lump of terraformed terrain with a carrier model on it so it doesn't go anywhere. There's also no proper carrier stuff like catapults.

I'm trying to figure out how to make the entire model solid so there's no need for terraformed terrain as it's very problematic. At the moment this is just a bit of fun that doesn't really work all that well.

If I can get a solid model I'll be able to place other ones anywhere people want quickly. It's going to be too time consuming with the existing design.

Well done Mr. Spud - this is one fun mod, terrain hacks and all 😁

Glad you dug it as is.

The hack thing is starting to torment me. Blender was truly sent down by Satan to create a portal to hell on one's very own lap.

My first carrier landing in MSFS.

As I posted on the download page, this is a lovely job when you consider the limitations of the SDK at present. Hopefully a) it will be possible for the whole deck to be solid and b) it will be possible to 'copy and paste' the carrier to different locations rather than having to go through the laborious hassle of creating a new one each time.

OS:     Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU:  MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB]
SSD:  Corsair Force MP510 (for OS);  2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)
HDD:  Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet

Having pondered it I think it's the proper runway that's going to be the issue. As far as I know there's no mod with a runway applied to anything other than official terrain.

A runway has its own terraforming that'll probably have its mind blown by being stuck to a model.

The carrier in the LatinVFR mod is just a hard surface to land on, not that I've nailed that either. I'll keep fiddling anyway. Maybe it's possible to bury a small amount of runway on terraformed terrain surrounded by a hard surface.
