Expecting a blurry, stuttering mess. Keeping expectations low is key here.

If so, I probably won't leave Prepar3Dv5 soon . We'll see...

"Expecting a blurry, stuttering mess. "

definitely not!

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

I don’t think it’s bad but I think I’ll be waiting a year for the kinks to be ironed out and my hardware to catch up.

I'm not very excited. Not a VR user and wonder what other things will get broken or downgraded to make room for VR?

Let me guess...  You have never TRIED VR?

I was never interested in VR before I actually experienced it (in XP11 and DCS in an a Rift-S).  From that moment on I vowed to never fly in 2D again.  I have fired up MSFS a few times to stay current on updates, but this will be the first time I actually fly in this sim.  I purchased a Reverb G2 just for MSFS (though it has been fantastic in other games/sims so far)

I'm happy for the VR people getting sim support for this and I'm also very keen to get into VR myself. I'm just concerned that today's release will be one step forward, three steps back. Asobo's update track record to date has been poor to dismal. I want a sim I can still use this evening. That's all.

And the HP Reverb G2 is now in stock here in Norway.

Not that I can afford one.

Same here. G2 arrived yesterday. New RTX ready to be installed. VR any minute. I got into the beta for MSFS (not the VR beta 😞 though) but couldn't enjoy the experience without VR. I don't want to mess around with keys and buttons and I want to turn my head to look out of the window or lean forward to get a close look at something.

one needed to have a VR headset already connected to get into the VR beta. Once you get the VR update today, don't tell me it is anything but a revelation. otherwise we must be talking about different games 🙂

I had both a G1 and an Odyssey at the time of the request, but neither were plugged in 😞

Tried again later in vain
