Pan and zoom the camera to where you want and then use Ctrl-Alt-1 through Ctrl-Alt-9 to setup and store custom cameras. To bring them back up use Alt-1 through Alt-9. I use TrackIR and it's pause feature myself. I lean in zooming into the area of the G1000 I want to use then press the TrackIR pause button I have setup on my mouse. Whether you use TrackIR or don't have it and set up custome cameras, it makes life a whole lot easier once the thing is zoomed in and not bouncing around. When you mouse over the area of those buttons you want, use the mouse wheel to rotate the button instead of clicking. This works much better and you don't have to change sides of the knob to click the other way (just rotate the mouse wheel in the opposite direction). Thanks! I don't have a mouse just a laptop cursor pad, I'm going to get the class Echo interface seems to have good reviews and if I can get that set up and working well then I'll customize my camera angles, how do you set up trackIR?

It'll cost you about 80 quid to get one, but you just download the MSFS drivers from the Saitek website, plug the thing in to a USB port and Bob's yer uncle: full hardware autopilot controls for MSFS, plus a hardware flaps lever and perhaps best of all, a hardware elevator trim wheel, which might even justify the price on its own given how cack trimming usually is in a flight sim. Here it is flying the default MSFS Beech King Air 350 tacking the FMS GPS NAV source, holding at 26,000 feet, having climbed up there using the VSI controls: One of the best things about this kind of hardware set up, is that you can be handling ATC much more easily if you can quickly get everything set up after departure with hardware controls rather than having to faff about with a mouse to get the thing on course whilst ATC is also bothering you. Sure two pilots can easily do this, but when you are on your own in a flight sim and don't want to pause things, hardware rotary controls and buttons for this kind of stuff in combination with a headset where you can talk to ATC (I use Multi Crew Experience for that) is a godsend, as well as being more immersive and more realistic. The new Class Echo kit for this looks like a possibly good - if a little on the pricey side for a DIY option - solution for this problem too, so check that out as well. What I will say about things like this which seem pricey, is that you realise it's worth the cash when you actually get them and see how much easier and more fun things are. Hi Chock - you stated that you are flying the Beech King Air...is there a mod that makes it more flyable? From what I had seen while the avionics sort of look like G3000, they are in fact not and those mods did not help. I was very much looking forward to the King Air and have found it unflyable. December 31, 20205 yr I think pretty soon AirManager with Knobster will work for the G1000. AM is currently in beta for FS2020. But in X-plane all the Garmin work great with the Knobster. AM is great for most instruments and the knobster currently works for setting frequencies for navcoms and altimeter, heading etc really well in FS2020. It is best to run AM on a touch screen on the same computer as FS2020. But it can also run on networked laptop or even tablet. There are lots of videos on YouTube on using AirManager and Knobster. Helps if you do a bit of the voice training to make sure your accent is recognised, but that only takes a minute or two. After that you just pick your options (which you can change on the fly if you like) and off you go. The only (very rare) potential fly in the ointment to be aware with on Multi Crew Experience, is that for the most part if accesses default sim commands, although it does get updated fairly regularly to incorporate new developments, but what that means is that if you are flying a sim aeroplane which uses standard default commands, then everything works great, but if it deviates from this, then that can (only very occasionally) cause slight problems. I'll give you an example: Let's say you are flying a sim aeroplane which uses the default sim stuff for lower and retract the gear, which as we know is the keyboard shortcut G. what this means is if you say something like: 'raise the gear' or 'gear up please' or 'can you retract the landing gear?' or 'raise the undercarriage' or any other reasonably similar variation on that, then your co-pilot will recognise this and the program will do the equivalent of you hitting the G key, so the gear will come up and your co-pilot will acknowledge this. But let's say you have a weird add-on which perhaps uses the 'raise gear' animation and command in the sim to trigger something else, and it uses the 'lower the water rudder' command to operate the gear, then this could potentially cause an issue. There really aren't very many sim add-ons which do weird stuff like that, but it's not entirely unknown. More likely is a problem whereby the add-on aeroplane developer has created a custom autopilot, so when you tell your co-pilot to 'set the Course to 270', this would trigger the default command to do that, which is fine if your add-on aeroplane uses the default SDK method for that, but if it does, by having a custom routine running outside the sim for the autopilot, then voice control for it might be problematic. Aside from this, Multicrew Experience is absolutely fab for ATC, it is a complete no brainer to use and you have so many options to hand, that there is rarely any problem at all. Add to this the fact that the developer of MCE is another guy who I have a lot of time for, as he is pretty easily contactable and always willing to help and offer suggestions or perhaps make tweaks to the program if you have an issue with a specific add-on aeroplane. But you don't have to take my word for it, there is a freebie demo of it, so you can decide for yourself if you like it. You might think the full on version isn't cheap at 59 Euros, but if you give it a try and see the vast array of things it does and how easy it is to use and how well it works, you will soon realise that the price tag is in fact a bit of a bargain. Am I missing something? I would be happy for any feedback - thanks! I'm using the default aeroplane, no mods whatsoever and it's been working just fine for me. I'm not thrilled that so many of the switches are inoperable, but I can fly it okay from A to B with it behaving all the time. To be honest, I rather suspect that it might not be a coincidence that I appear to have few problems and don't use any mods. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that some of the mods we are seeing are possibly to blame for the untoward behaviour people are experiencing on some aeroplanes. In saying this I'm not having a pop at modders - I do a bit of that myself on occasion - but they are in uncharted territory much of the time, not least because of the SDK's limitations. It's very easy to mod one thing and not realise that it might cause some ghost in the machine to occur somewhere else completely unrelated. I didn't buy MSFS to faff around with it. I want to use it as it comes because I've had enough of all that tweaking you had to do with FSX and P3D, which if the amount of Avsim threads there are about that stuff, would seem to support my contention that a lot of the DIY 'fixes' just ended up busting something else instead. I agree with that 100%. I believe that we need to let Asobo settle this sim in before we start tweaking with unknown consequences. _________________________________________________________________________ Bob "roadwarrior" Werab Config: ASUS Prime Motherboard, RYZEN 5, 32 GB Ram, Radeon RX5700 XT, 2 TB SSD

Hey Chock yeah I think I will give this ATC add on a go seems good! I want to be able to read back clearances, follow demands such as change frequency enroute, tower, ground etc and to make the standard calls on standard approaches. Thanks very much for your very detailed answer I don't thing the Saitek will suit me I renew my licenses in a DA42 each year which has the G1000 the problem I have with the G1000 in the DA62 on FS is trying to turn the Nav and Com knobs nightmare makes the plane useless to fly might get the Echo interference, it looks good.
