Wait, it seems clearer too? Is it just me? Like everything is sharp, even in the blurry spot....

Thought I was tripping...even 80 render scale looks sharp now.

There's always some form of placebo after an update, i did a flight list night and it looks exactly the same to me.

Definitely not placebo. To be sure I’ve tested with my contact lenses on and also my glasses. Something definitely changed.

I hope so for your glorious 1080 Ti but it seems that even Turing has been left behind and basically every person who claims better performance with 461.92 drivers has an RTX 3000 series.

Try anyway, it's just a 10 minutes test.

Sure enough 457 driver still reigns supreme for me!

Actually experienced a nasty hard crash with the latest 461 driver this go around so I uninstalled it ASAP.

Before it crashed on me I did run it and performance was less smooth than 457 especially low terrain object stutter.

With the new hotfix and 457 patch I have more of a stable image...the dreaded image wobble is gone.

I'm getting even much better performance now by simply going straight into the sim without any external tweaks.

No Oculus Tools and no Nvidia CP Tweaking.

Good that you are happy with 457.30 driver, I figured the new one could be bad for your 1080 Ti... however the image wobble was caused by motion reprojection (smoothing in Steam VR)

VR is definitely clearer on my end on a g2. Running the latest drivers with mediumish settings getting 35-40 FPS and a ryzen 3900x, 3080, 64 gb ram.

I may go back and use an older driver (441.87) with my 2080ti.

How did you let the NCP detect or find the flightsimulator.exe because i can't get that to work with these drivers (Windows Store install).

And pointing to the exe doesn't work because to autorisation to access it (offensive initials not allowed), even taking ownership doesn't give me access.

If you reboot it should see the flight simulator exe to apply any tweaks. Does for mine.

Just as an update I saw video VR flight sim guy posted

https://youtu.be/zmmkrTsidzQ

Whilst not particularly scientific I flew out of Norwich and London (nor/lon next to note) and tried moving my head similar through each of the benchmarks to get a feel of what they would be like when moving head not only to compare drivers but also Oculus versions.

Results below I noted within the frame times some strange behaviour in v27.

So 457.30 and v24 still for me.

It does not for 441.87 for me. No joy to get flightsim.exe in the NCP.

Post update I’m getting a solid 45fps using 457.30 (haven’t tested latest) in the JF PA28. Default VR graphics, rw36L (KNEW) @ 3:00PM, Clear weather, no windows tweaks.  OpenXL render 70%, get latest = YES, repro = Always on. Non-steam version, HP Reverb.

I don’t remember it being this smooth before.  I was only getting 29 FPS in the prior update.

Specs: I9-13900K, RTX 4090, 32gb Ram |Headsets: HP Reverb

I think I have come to a conclusion now.

I've been boring again I completed a little testing after the recent update in MSFS and have found the following:

There's a definite boost in FPS performance with my default London flight from EGLC to EGLL old version at the bottom of the list.
I then tried latest 461.92 vs the old faithful 457.30 drivers and the latest 461.92 just took it.
I then turned on game mode and HAGS and a small improvement on these scores.

Round up, with my 2080ti, 9700k and  I am now using Nivida 461.92 and I am also using Oculus V27. Game mode on and HAGs on.

Look how much testing I've done and now we have a top performer in the sense that latest update for MSFS and 461.92. My work for now is done.

Let's fly lol

@HiFlyerI know they have worked some sort of performance miracle with the latest patch because this scenery is now actually flyable in VR for me!

I actually can't believe it as before the patch this was a guaranteed crawl fest in both 2D and VR.

I'll give it a try, as I have been away from VR the last couple of days while messing around with the new A320 experimental version.

I'll note though that I never had a problem with the Monaco scenery. I had actually done a quick video of it right after it first came out, and it was fine.

Finally some good news for my trusty 2070SUPER, for the fist time since driver 457.30 a new driver is performing the same, no massive stutters or lags, lovely smoothness and FPS the same as well. All previous drivers in-between were "bad" in the sense that they stuttered like crazy but not this one, I've yet to Fly normally outside of benchmarking so that will be the proof in the pudding.
