January 16, 20215 yr Hi and good week to all, Any idea if Milviz are still planning to release their ATR? A good ATR is missing today as most airlines fly that type rather then the Dash 8-Q400, I may settle for the Carenado (on sale) if that's no longer in their plans... and I understand that in regards to flight dynamics and systems it's not up there with the more complex addons... January 16, 20215 yr Even of its flown more than the Q400 by real airlines it has no effect on me. Q400 one of my favorite and most used planes in the hangar. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
January 17, 20215 yr ATR maybe used a lot by smaller airlines but you'll find the big ones fly the Q400.
January 17, 20215 yr If systems realism is what you are after, then you definitely want the Majestic Dash 8 Q400 Pro version. It's one of the best sim aeroplanes you can buy for P3D. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
January 17, 20215 yr Author Forgot to mention I already own the Majestic Dash 8 Shom MSFS2024 running on Win 11, 4K screen, Z790 AORUS ELITE AX-W, i9-14900K, MSI 3080Ti, Corsair 2x32GB 6000 MHz, 1+2TB M.2 NVMEs
January 17, 20215 yr I purchased my Majestic Dash 8 Pro from Just Flight - and when I go to my account - the only version available to me is for P3D V4. Is it compatible with P3d V5.1? - and if so what do I need to do to make it work in 5.1? George Westwell

I fully agree regarding the ATR, but I don't think MilViz will ever release it for P3D. Maybe for MSFS, who knows?, but in the later case I'm on the customer list already. January 17, 20215 yr It's nowhere near the kind of super-nerd level of the FSLs, Majestics, PMDGs and A2As of this world, but it's a lot better than the jump in and go cheap and cheerful Virtualcol stuff, not that I'm slating Virtualcol's fun approach to add-ons in saying that.. If for the purposes of a scale, we say Majestic's Dash 8 100 percent, and the Virtualcol ATR-72 is 20 percent (it is free after all), then I'd put the Carenado ATR-72 at a good solid 65 percent. Easily realistic enough to do a reasonably convincing IFR flight as long as you can accept a few compromises, but not something you'd call a study sim aeroplane. Above the level of the FeelThere E-Jets, but below that of the Aerosoft A320. After reading community opinion of Carenado, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the ATRs flew and how the FMC held up - I haven't had any significant problems with them. They look very good (much better visuals that the Majestic Dash), if a little heavy on VRAM. They also have some nice touches like Hotel Mode, but as you'd expect from Carenado, are nowhere near study level. Worth taking a look, especially if on sale. Interesting take, I find myself pleasantly surprised by what the E-Jets actually simulate, rather than disappointed about what they don't have. 😅 I may have to take another look at the Carenado ATR. It's a great sadness that the ATR (and some other aircraft) never made it to P3D, and also not really understandable. The systems are there. Building a new VC and integrating the existing elements can't be that difficult, if even FeelThere can do it... Here's one from many years ago: Edited January 18, 20215 yr by thepilot
