I saw their FB page and thought, Oh..I can't wait to buy Barcelona airport and then I found out that I already purchased it and installed but forgot that I had. WTH, How do we remember all the airports we have installed in spite of me having a skyvector route across all the addons I have and intend to get soon.

In the world map in the sim, there is a star for each installed scenery/airport, is there not? That was my understanding.

This is not a general rule. For some you have a star for others not. Unfortunately there is no method to do it afterwards if the developer did not code it.

I remember spending a few hours researching reviews etc on a P3D airport (I can’t remember which one), decided to buy it...only to find out I had already bought it lol.  Not a Good use of a few hours of free time...at least I came to the same conclusion both times haha.

I am now maintaining a notepad with some key information. like this. This just a portion of the payware. I also have a list of freeware  I have installed and other vital information I need.

Notice I have a list for "To buy". thee are payware I am not ready to buy as yet...but its there...if I need them or when they are on sale. I just do a search/find by ICA code to see the status, do I have a payware or a freeware of that airport etc. This notepad is quite handy. and I have them all stitched them all up in SkyVector too.

I do not have LOWS (Salsburg) anywhere cause the Payware, albeit good overall, I hate the runway texture. Their rationale was, the real Salsburg had redone their runway recently so they have put a clean runway texture (non weathered), which looks almost like the default runway texture. How long is that runway going to be sparkly new? Its going to be weathered soon. Then what? either give me the old grey weathered runway texture or a more darker one but still weathered like how it would look in 2 years. I also not download freeware that uses default runway textures. even if they have custom buildings.

Hmmm.. Thats why I was indecisive. But I love to fly in the Caribbeans. in P3D I had every single airports for all those Islands.

I started to rely on Little nav map which encircles all modified airports with a yellow ring in the world map.  Very handy for planning flights from modified freeware to pay ware.  However some scenery like that bought from Marketplace is encrypted which means it can’t be read by little nav map.  So I reverted to type and every time I buy pay ware or download freeware I use my trusty spreadsheet to track all my content.

I made my own custom map in google maps, has some other benefits like using icons/colours which let me identify what type of aircraft they can handle, put some stars next to my faves, differentiate between my payware and freeware ones, add notes and I also can setup regions that I can tick/untick so that way so I don't get an icon overload when zooming out.  Also a good way to plan a flight between your airports as we definitely already are at the stage of content overload. And being able to use the satellite imagery to look around the area adds some immersion as well.

Anybody can add each payware/freeware airport on Google Earth. The Lorby-SI tool does that for all scenery installed in P3D/FSX and the prototype MSFS version does the same.
