I'm not sure about this I have to admit. Third party dev posted this on the MSFS forum and to me it seems a bit too much. Thinking i'm gonna go for the other one.

'Hi all!!! Thank you so much for all congrats arrived to me !

I m happy help community have a lot of fun with FlightControlReplay!

As I said FlightControlReplay for msfs is only first step of journey! There are a lot of variables (like light and other things) that it can be fixed by Asobo . As soon as asobo update sdk I ll update my tool accordingly.

One advice for video rendering , if you maximise the window and start video rendering of flight recorded , I think there is no issue .

A couple of advices more:

  • PLEASE OPEN THE RIGHT FLIGHTCONTROLREPLAY.EXE FOR MSFS . This is placed is FLIGHTCONTROLREPLAYMSFS FOLDER
Because there are three fcr version one for fsx (in the main folder) one for p3d in the flightcontrolreplayp3dx folder and Flightcontrolreplay for msfs in the FlightControlReplayMSFS folder !
  • set ai offline and g.a and airline traffic slider to 0
  • please press ReadyToFly button BEFORE that you use FlightControlReplay (play etc)
  • please disable crash option in msfs

I think that with these advices you ll can have a great experience ! Obviously as soon as Asobo update sdk I update fcr .

In this year there are a lot of things I ll announce on tool .

Thank you for all and I m proud of all these fantastic comments'

Just to let you all know that it does record and replay gear and flap positions externally and the control movement positions in the VC.

Here's a pic from a replay with the gear coming up at the right time:

Hi,

another thing, nothing to do with the Add on, as i watch your pic here i see sometthing what i see in my pics also:

In the right engine there is a round shine on the blades, somebody figured out what that is ?

It is not showing all the time, only in some angle of view maybe some reflection texture doeing sometthing wrong ?

Anyone knows what happens about that ? (  maybe a fix? )

cheers 😉

I'm not going to ask for a refund yet.

No refunds possible at simmarket in Germany. I write this off as another support payment for developers in need. Like most of the simulation investments are today,  given that we pay to be beta testers. 😐

Yup, have to agree with that.

This is definitely an 'it kinda works...' product, not really ready for a commercial release claiming that it is MSFS compatible (other than as a very shaky beta).

The price is justified if you are using it for other sims too, but if only for MSFS, then it's priced way over the odds at the moment given how shaky it is. Hopefully that will change but as it stands, if users are expecting a completely trouble-free ride with this thing, they're in for a disappointment.

Between this and the convoluted mess that is FS Playground, it makes me wonder what's so hard about making a replay tool for this sim? I'm starting to see why Asobo didn't include one as a default if it's this hard to get one working with a GUI which thinks haptics and ergonomics are alien concepts.

Having bought both this and FS Playground, I'm into nearly fifty quid and still don't have a decent replay tool for MSFS, but at least the FS Playground developers were up front about it being a beta, subject to a lot of change, so I'll give them credit for that.

I take it you won't be using it on your 737 review?😃

I had planned to. I was gonna do a circuit of EGCC, record that and then do a V/O for it, but this replay tool is just a bit too hit and miss to trust it at this point, so I ended up just doing an on-the-fly review with a short piece to camera at the start. Which is okay but a bit on the long side (which is why I'd wanted to do a circuit with a V/O, since that would have been shorter). This has a bearing on rendering and upload times; at 6.83Gb for the rendered file, that takes a long time to go up to youtube (it's uploading at present and has been for several hours, 49 minutes to go apparently). It's a good in-depth look at the 737 Max though and I'd like to think it was an honest and fair one too.

I might well do a comparative review of Flight Control Replay and FS Playground, as I think that would be interesting and useful. And further to my comment about people doing lightweight and to be frank, not very good reviews of the latest hot topic, which I mentioned on that Bredok3D 737 MAX Avsim thread, in order to get channel views, see how many people do a review of these flight recorder tools compared to how many did one for that 737 and you'll be aware of what I meant about those reviews being more concerned with getting views and subscribers to earn revenue, rather than actually trying to do helpful and informative content.

There was a lot of that about when MSFS was in beta, which is why I absolutely refused to do an MSFS video until it was actually out and it's why I personally think most youtube flight sim reviewers are a bunch of self-serving tw**s who actually don't care very much about flight simmers, or at least not as much as they care about making money.

Back on topic however, it is my hope that either this or FS Playground (or both) will be useful review tools, and I'm sure they will be eventually, so I'm not really that bothered about them being a bit shaky at the moment, because they'll almost certainly be okay in the future, by which time I'll already have paid for them both, so it'll all be good. So I'd not say 'don't buy these' at the moment, but I would say 'be ware of the issues' if and when you do buy them because they do work some of the time, and hell, even a broken clock is right twice a day!

How do the tw*ts get remunerated by YT?

Is it via those 6 second ads on their video, or number of hits , or something else?

If you have over 1,000 subscribers you can put adverts in your video and choose how many ad breaks you want (this criteria used to require a number of views as opposed to a number of subscribers, so some with less than that number can monetise), then your amount of views determines the exposure of the ads and you get a paid based on that. You can also sponsor your videos and get a payment of some kind from the sponsor, and last but not least you can have channel patrons who subscribe and donate a monthly fee via things such as patreon. So there' a few ways you can do it. This is why youtubers are really chasing views and subscribers a lot of the time.

I notice that most of the Sailing videos feature an overly chesty, scantily clad, female on the video teaser. Regardless of the content.😀

Yup, when you render a video from something such as Premiere you can set the 'poster' (i.e. the thumbnail which youtube would show). You can leave the renderer to do this itself by picking a random frame from the video, or let youtube do it, but many youtubers pick a picture (usually of some nice looking chick in a bikini or whatever) which is not part of the content of the video, as clickbait. It must work too, otherwise people would have stopped doing that ages ago.

That 737 review is up on my channel now by the way. cover your ears, I sing a song at the start of it lol.

Sorry, I honestly didn't notice whether it did or did not. I'm sure someone will comment on that soon though because it's a good question.

I think Chock raises a good point.   FCR is a shaky beta at best.   FSPlayground is more robust but has its own set of issues.   Only one of these was advertised as being a beta, and it's the one that honestly feels less like one.

Take from that what you will.
