I'm using Simbrief, and saving it to FS2020, then importing it into the FMC in the FBW A320, and Pilot2ATC. The Navigraph database is current for both.

Pilot2ATC seems to like to add many more waypoints then the FMC does.

The problem mainly seems to be the SID'd and STAR's don't match up. I get different waypoints, and sometimes they approach has different transitions as well.

Do I need to update another DB along with the Navigraph one for Pilot2ATC? A bit confused on why the same Simbrief FP gives different results. 

This is on the full release version BTW.

No one has run into this? I'll try some more flights and see if it keep occurring.

I have had this happen as well. It just so happens that msfs just updated the AIRAC CYCLE today. so before the update I have had different waypoints for stars and approaches and some sids and stars missing altogether. I will not update airacs until msfs does. I will also check on accuracy between msfs and p2a since the update to see if this has been corrected

I didn't get a chance to do a flight today. I'll do the same one tomorrow and see if anything has changed.

Yes. I believe MSFS isn't following SIDs/STARs. It kind of does it's own thing that's an approximation of the SID/STAR. This isn't new. You can observe it in the Navigraph chart or just compare the plan in the MSFS VFR map to the charts.

If you export the plan out of Pilot2ATC and import it in MSFS it will follow exactly.

When loading from the cockpit, I set Pilot2ATC flight path warning to a higher number and we all just pretend MSFS knows what it's doing.

Yeah that's exactly one of the reasons I fly the WT CJ4 exclusively, there's absolutely no discrepancy between what you planned and the flight plan the aircraft follows. I might try out the FBW A320 some day, once they incorporate the same custom non-MSFS flight plan / AP implementation.

This is a MSFS issue. Once the FBW team fixes the MCDU we will be able to add waypoints or delete waypoints in STARs. The waypoints that Pilot2ATC adds in STARs are correct. If you check the charts you will see that. It’s MSFS that is adding waypoints that don’t really exist. 
 

I seem to notice that whenever I am suppose to receive vectors after the last waypoint in a STAR, MSFS will just not add that waypoint and add something else instead which causes you to miss points in P2ATC. The remedy I have found is to just delete the waypoints from pilot2atc in the STAR so ATC is not expecting me to fly towards them. The arrival should go much more smoothly then. Unfortunately this is the only way for now because we cannot edit anything regarding the waypoints in the STAR in the MCDU until the FBW team overhauls it.

 

also for now get used to using the DIRCT function too as ATC will have you turn base and final a lot sooner than the stretched out flight plan that MSFS wants you to fly and it’s the only way to skip a waypoint in the MCDU since we can’t delete anything

Yes, Pilot2ATC follow the Navdata for 100% including SID and STARS.

You can export the flightplan from Pilot2ATC with included SID and STAR waypoints and load it into MSFS on worldmap page.
There is an option for it in P2A. 
After that the route is 100% the same in the sim but it's not longer separated SID/ROUTE/STAR and APPROACH in the MCDU/FMC.
And it's not a good idea to change e.g. Approach in the MCDU/ FMC afterwards. MSFS will mix up  the route again.
Maybe this will help you temporary until Asobo fix the routing system.

best method I found for MSFS was to have the sim open but not past the 'globe' page and you airport selections have not been made yet. then start P2ATC. create the plan you want. save it as a MSFS (.fms) file with the path you select in P2ATC. on the 'world page select load flight plan, go to your folder and select the plan you just saved. open it. you should have a complete plan. make sure you select a gate before starting flight. DO NOT alter the flight plan in ANY way. just add fuels and weights, your speeds alts and ILS assignment's and your weights... every MCDU function BUT the flight plan. No rnwy, nada. changing flight plan thru MCDU will ruin it all... just follow ATC instructions and you'll be fine.

I’ll try this later myself. It’s amazing how they haven’t fixed this yet. However we do have contrails and orbit airlines now.🤒

 

is it possible to load a flight plan after landing? I recall it not working a few months ago but I haven’t tried it since we can now import via the MCDU using simbrief . That’s important to me as I usually do 2-3 flights in a session and don’t want to go back to the main menu just to import another flight plan file

I tried this but when I tried to load from world map, the .fms plan is not in the folder?
 

 

For MSFS you are looking for a .pln file, not a .fms file.

Yes but if you try to save (as opposed to export) in P2ATC the only option is a .fms file.

Is there a way to export a plan with weather/live traffic generated SID/STAR without connecting to MSFS first.  Otherwise, I have to load in to an airport, set flight plan with correct SID/STAR in P2ATC, export and then return to Main Menu and load the saved plan.

To be honest, with MSFS the best thing to do is forget the world map and setting up flightplans in it.  Just do everything with simbrief and copy/pasted the route text straight in to P2ATC.
