March 5, 20215 yr As one of their most vocal critics, I felt obligated to share that I found two updates waiting for me this am. Perhaps they are finally listening... will report back later today, but go get yours as well. C Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
March 5, 20215 yr Author Won't have time to thoroughly evaluate until later today, however, a quick check of the Waco CG showed it appears untouched/unsolved. 😞 I will be on my mobile, so if others can verify and comment re. these updates I’d be obliged. Ta- C Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
March 5, 20215 yr If that's the case so far then it's the exact point I made on the other Carenado Thread about the incoming Arrow III - which was that both those things could have been very quickly fixed by having access to the aircraft files ourselves. I just wouldn't be content flying an aircraft with a minor problem I knew I could fix in two minutes of a quick edit of the .cfg files and being unable to because of the file restrictions. I can only agree with that! I really liked the Carenado products for FSX/P3D but they are meant to be tweaked. The center of gravity error of the Waco would have been fixed by the community within hours of the release. Same goes for the broken flight dynamics of the Seminole and Mooney. But due to these stupid restrictions we are still waiting for a proper fix. Greetings Tim My files on Flightsim.to i5 12600K | 32Gb | RTX 4080
March 5, 20215 yr Author Please do not forget that prior satisfying @Carenado flight in P3d (other than the Waco which I really did enjoy) was brought to us by @Bert Pieke et al, and in their stock form the aircraft were deficient. Still, I suppose that we here, are very much in the minority, and that Carenado (and I suppose at this point MS) are not particularly bothered by such peccadillos. In another post I read that most FS users will only see MSFSMP, and perhaps that is indeed so. Most of the shortcomings are obviated with a viewpoint solely devoted to "gaming and sightseeing" and perhaps they are more than satisfied with their sales. I was hoping their enormous lead in MSFS would have stirred some desire to be taken seriously in the FS aircraft development world- but full coffers are perhaps enough solace? March 6, 20215 yr Ah that explains it. C A lot of truth in that. The default airplanes have quite a few problems but at least they're fixable and folks are working on them. With time, I think they may become fine aircraft. Carenado planes will, likely, be stuck in their usual place with broken or unimplemented things in them with a single cockpit layout and no way to fix them. Just Flight is higher quality stuff but I'd like to see them take on more mainstream aircraft...aircraft that Carenado has done but left half-finished. One lesson in that is the Hotstart TBM 900 (X-Plane). Carenado did the 850 which was pretty horrible but Hotstart released theirs and, despite it's price, it really sold. Torquesim's SR22 (also X-Plane) seems to be following the same path. Listen, I'm not here to bash Carenado...they have done their part to get airplanes out there that, at least, look good. But them making an airplanes doesn't necessarily mean that somebody else can't release it down the road.
