Completely Broken Since Update

I am convinced that MSFS 2020 beta testers are mainly the users. They put out an update, and quickly find our from the people using the program, what they need to correct in their just released update.

That is about right. I am sure I heard Jorge on the Q&A a few days ago state they don't actually beta test updates. They send them to their 'partners' who then only look at the update to ensure compatibility for whatever product they are pushing.

This thing is a huge mess. I am starting to hate attending the Q&A sessions. To see them sitting there stating there is nothing wrong and it is ok for people to be mad (another Jorge statement). They seem so disconnected with their customers. Days after that session and many people grounded and still nothing...

Don`t reinstall this dosen`t help you

Yeah I would agree. It is broken. You are just wasting your own time. Standby while Asobo break more stuff LOL.

Does anyone know if Asobo or MS have acknowledged that there is a problem and they are working on it? My 2020 was running great until that last update. I only have the FBW A320 installed and nothing else. Now my performance has decreased in half and I show “limited by main thread” in developer mode. I’ve never had this issue since release. I was going to get the CRJ on Tuesday but now I’m holding off because my sim is unusable.

I believe they have it on their tracker. Not sure that means much at this stage, but we can all live in hope!

Edit - yes this sucks for the CRJ release. Their top partner is getting screwed.

Added comment regarding CRJ

It seems to me that everybody brings here his own sorrows. Howard are clearly explained his own specific problem which is not what some other people are experiencing (stutters, etc.) after SU3.  It might be useful to focus on it instead of making this thread yet another hotchpotch of bile. Just sayin'

So they are counting on the partners to beta test updates, that is so far beyond ridiculous, it boggles the mind. The partners total focus is going to be on their product and if the update effects it, period. That is not what a beta test is supposed to do. No wonder these updates are a horror story. I am not going to purchase any more add ons until this update mess gets on the right track.

Well I think everyone is helping. It was suggested a reinstall and we all said no, don't do it. Howard is hearing he isn't the only one and to not waste his time. You aren't adding anything by whining about the supposed whiners.

Yeah that is exactly what I heard. Jorge went on to add that he thought it would be a good idea to beta test. I can't believe that way of thinking.

Yes, no wonder it is a horror story!!

If they don't want to beta test these huge updates, then they should allow people to opt out of updates, until a large number of users determine whether or not the update is "Safe".  Forcing everyone to have to "beta test" this garbage, is unfair to someone that just wants a usable sim.

Ever since the World Update III, TaskManager tells me Microsoft Flight Simulator power usage is "Very high." Never, ever had that before this update. I start off at 30fps and after a few minutes it drops to 12-15fps. And this is at the Welcome screen or Marketplace. GPU usage is 92-95% and I'm not doing anything except looking at static screens.

CPU=49C and GPU=55C so heat doesn't seem to be an issue.

Any further attempts trying to fix this are a waste of time. Answer to this problem needs to come from Asobo.

I found the part where Jorge talks about beta testing. It is at the 01:20 mark of the latest twitch stream. For some reason I can't link to it from here, but if interested you can easily find it.

I certainly agree and opt-in option is by far the best. Otherwise delay updates by a couple of weeks while the testers report problems erc. It won't catch all the bugs, but hopefully catches show-stoppers like the one Howard is reporting.

Amen!

The new motto of the Asobo Team:  One step forward, two steps back

Well I for one refuse to spend any more money on hardware or software on MSFS until asobo gets this right. For 6 months I have been virtually trouble free . Now the sim is a complete mess with my video card for the most part asleep while I go from 60fps to 15 fps. The more they tinker with msfs the worse it gets.
