Ask me again when helicopters are available in VR on xbox, due 2022 by Asobos timetable.

Laminar haven't even officially announced a new version of XPlane yet, we're all just assuming based on gut feeling, rumour and by trying to read between the lines of an eccentric that does not even have much to do with day to day xplane anymore.

We have a multi million dollar helo (a real one) looking for a simulator

Which would you put a 6 figure sum+ on and not feel grumpy about it?

Austin promising mobile is the future and Laminar with no official announcements

Or

Asobo that can't even get a plane right when they work one on one with the manufacturer

I'm not even arguing with you however, I'm simply pointing out that one or two successes does not make for a sustainable 3PD market.

That's why selection is very important.

In one sense it is a large net positive for you that many devs have gone to MSFS

Yes and no.

those MSFS users should be choosing the better sim with the better planes (and LRs more or less mute marketing department doesn't make that happen).

That's not just the job of the developers of the platform, but also the 3PD's.  It's up to us to make payware that is of exceptional standard...AND high enough demand...to draw the audience over.

Point of fact, I would have been happy enough if I made $20 000 out of the TBM in the first year.  I could live off that for 2 years while working on the next project.  Working from home is the big deal for me.  Fortunately, it made enough to afford me to spend several years working on the next project.

You are just setting yourself up for a fall. When they do release something , there will be a little excitement than you will find something to complain about.Im glad when I get something I never had, you are just demanding you get what you want and someone else, will be dissatisfied because they never got what they want, and the complaing will just go on.

We were considering financing milviz's ATR for X-Plane.  They needed $30 000, and the consideration was there.  Initial terms and conditions were, in a way, rejected.  But, never say never.

even that horror show that is the 737Max for MSFS

But you've got to admit it was a brilliant money making coup! I take my hat off to them. I'm told it was probably about 60 hours work It's sold bucketloads because it's the first 737. Externally it looks OK. And it's cheap enough and it works and so has avoided severe criticism. It's a one off. No ones going to get away with anything like it again.

If GoranM makes money and he is happy with XP11, why would he switch ? There is no need to convince him,. I am sure he is smart enough to see that once he can no longer sustain an acceptable revenue stream, he can switch over to MSFS.

Absolutely.  If Abacus can make money off the stuff they make, and I have no doubt it's agreed upon that their stuff is of mediocre quality, then ANYONE can make money in this business.  The question is, are they/is he/is she willing to sacrifice long term reputation for short term profit?

I'm surprised it even took that long.

I still wouldn't pay anything for it.  I don't even think I would download it if it was freeware.  But that's just my taste in add ons.

This whole thing about developers buying 3D models is catching on.  The recently released Phenom was a purchased 3D model from Turbosquid.  And I can say that because the developer has disclosed that bit of information.

However, I reserve my comments regarding the quality of turbosquid models.

Only idiots who don't know any better bought that 737 Max aircraft. It's an insult to any payware maker out there.

Well I do admit to buying the 737. And yes, I regret it!🥵  Even at eighteen quid it's not my cup of tea although there are those who seem to love it. I can't help admiring the developers though! Sheer genius which has scored them a new Ferrari and more.  Mind you I've wasted far more money buying unusable addons for XP. I could name them but had better not.
