March 27, 20215 yr Poor Chock, every time another plane comes out he's become the de facto test pilot 😃 I do enjoy your videos though mate, subbed the other day, always very informative and I love the anecdotes you throw in. And your reviews are definitely fair. Be very interested to get your opinion on this bird though, particularly how it compares to the Virtualcol B99, that one was a very mixed bag at the start but it's been patched quite a bit since and nowadays I would say that one is priced right, currently on sale for 9 Euros but even at its regular price of 14 it's still half compared to the nearly 30 Euros being charged for this one. Given its price point my expectations are immediately set a lot higher before I would be willing to fork out that amount.

No its okay, a good intermediate aircraft, easy to fly and most things work, probably not for the hardened simmer, but I think most will like it., I do. 😎 Asus Maximus Hero X11, Intel i9 10850k, 32gb Corsair Dominator ram, 2tb Corsair mp510 ssd m2, Gigybyte turbo RTX 3090

March 28, 20215 yr I've been testing it, and I'm currently doing a quick vid of it. The short answer is, it's overpriced for what it is, but if you don't mind the cost and don't expect too much, then it's okay. Better than the Virtualcol Beech 99 systems-wise and looks-wise, but then again it's over twice the price of that, so I should bloody well think so. But if you are hoping for a very realistic turboprop then you're not going to find it here. Systems and engine realism is fairly minimal, for example, whilst the auto system to feather a dead engine's prop does feather the prop in terms of animation, the prop still spins at a high rpm in the airflow in spite of this. Having said that, it does handle reasonably realistically on one engine, if a bit overpowered. There's lots of clickable switches in the VC and stuff, with a pretty much fully-functional overhead (switch wise) and the main panel is good too with a repeater system for the GPS functions which is very useful. It works with my saitek/logitek hardware autopilot too. Oh, and the de-icing stuff is well simulated, it affects available take off thrust if you have it powered on. Looks-wise it is a very good model (three models in fact, two passenger variants with different door configs and a cargo variant). Good animations on the GSE. Could do with some dirty paint jobs and some military liveries, but I daresay these will come. VC ain't the best, but it's alright, although at this price it should look better than it does when one considers the competition. The main (explanatory) PDF manual is good, as is the checklist manual, but these reference a third tutorial PDF manual which is nowhere to be seen in the package, so I'm guessing they forgot to bundle it in the download package exe file. You can get by without this tutorial manual if you are a reasonable savvy sim pilot (which is just as well since you've got no bloody choice in the matter lol - and you can start with Control+E if you have to), but not including it, is sloppy. The sounds are okay, not stunning, but it's a pretty good turbine noise. Look out for the vid soon where I'll expand on this stuff a bit. If you have 30-odd quid doing nothing, it's worth a go, but if money is tight and you haven't got stuff such as the Carenado Mooney, the AT Simulations Piaggio P.149 and the Just Flight PA28, then these are all better buys for less money. This is one for the completists rather than a must have, although if they dropped it to nearer 20 quid, that'd make it more persuasive. If they patch a few things up to add a tad more realism and drop the price a bit, I think they'd be nearer the mark and get better reviews. March 28, 20215 yr Thanks Chock and Boston for the insights, I sorta walked away with that same impression after reading through Boston's feedback on the MSFS forums. Model is ok, flight dynamics sound ok, the VC is alright and the main issue is the weak sounds. The end result should probably be it's ok for the price but clearly the overall quality does not live up to its current pricepoint. I'll look forward to your video though so I can actually see it in action but it sounds like it will end up being a 'maybe on sale' type of purchase. No longer short changed of planes to fly over the past few weeks and the quality of those has been raising the bar.
March 28, 20215 yr Yeah, I feel like it has potential, but it just isn't there yet. What they do with it largely will determine its fate. If they don't update much, I am afraid it will be forgotten soon. If they continue to work on it and improve it, it may actually become a cool aircraft at some point.

March 28, 20215 yr Thanks for the vid, I certainly has a much nicer VC than the Virtualcol one which remains my biggest gripe with that one but admittedly beating that VC wasn't exactly a challenge. Not sure I like this plane's windshield though, prison bars came to mind instantly but that's a personal thing I would find visually annoying. I admit I probably expected a worse impression than that video left me with so that's a positive but that price particularly in $AUD remains a higher investment than I'm willing too make, I just can't see myself liking it enough to really end up spending time with it which is a bigger problem than the price if I'm honest, even the virtualcol which I don't regret buying gets most of its flying time using AI pilots in AH2. The reality is that there is only that much time to fly the planes you want to fly, still love the Airbus and now the CRJ, and I barely spent enough time with the JF piper and spitfire which are both very polished. Even now I'm starting to build up a hangar with planes that aren't being flown and there is certainly an argument to be made that mastering a plane is what makes it more and more fun the more you fly it. So maybe quality, polish and/or a particular fondness for the plane itself should become the determining factors before making a purchase rather than getting tempted by whatever plane lands next. That's just my view currently and I'm certainly not in a position to criticise this plane, if anything I hope it will find its fans as more planes and more devs developing them can only be a good thing long term.
