yes the rudder inputs on the ground are "questionable"...if that's how the real aircraft behaved, the Luftwaffe would have had the skies to themselves...

I set the rudder bias to around 3 or 4 and it helps,  a boost of anywhere near +8 makes it almost impossible to get in the air for me. I am holding back the stick fully, then neutral and treating it gently but its very very difficult unless I boost +4 or lower.

Asobo needs to do more work on tail dragger modeling in the sim.  We have three birds now that are tail draggers that are a beast on the ground to control on the takeoff and landing role.  No longer can we blame the add-on developers (outside of releasing these birds knowing the SDK for this type of ground handling isn't fully fleshed out)..

@Will Fly For Cheese  Same! I'm ok once she's in the air, but she is a beast to get off the ground. I find if I boost to the suggest +8 [even gradually] she will roll or be uncontrollable along the runway.

All tips very welcome!

From the Manual;

TAKEOFF NOTES

  • -  Generally, no more than +7 lbs. of Boost should be required for takeoff. Less power means less of a tendency for the aircraft to twist and yaw to the left

  • -  There is a tendency for the aircraft to yaw left on takeoff, this should be carefully corrected withright rudder during takeoff. You will need to make small, constant adjustments and ‘dance’ onthe rudder in some takeoffs.

  • -  After takeoff, retrim the rudder and elevator

I'm okay with the Takeoff - it's getting the thing back down in one piece that I find tricky; bleeding off that last 15 kts just at the right time for a short runway.

Oh well, more practice tomorrow.
