I think you've got to just Dive On In And Take A Ride - as Robbie Williams would sing. I did - it reset the Sim to As New - and zero'd my Flight Hours - but didn't mess up my multiple Controller Settings - which is all I care about.
April 9, 20215 yr Is there any way to back up controller settings? I hardly dare to start the game anymore as long as this bug is going on, if they get lost I will go insane... Is there anyone who has updated the content manager who still has problems with this? The general consensus is - it won't mess with your Controller Settings - and that's from a few people here with High Post Counts - including I. Just Do It. You'll lose your Hours - but I'd rather lose those than my Controller Assignments and whathaveyou.

Midway thru my 1:30 flight the message popped up. My best guess is the the three updates in the Content Manager have absolutely nothing to do with it. Don’t for a moment think that because you update the Content Manager you are safe. You are not. April 9, 20215 yr I just got this message before starting a flight while on the ramp. I just nit no, and all seems ok. This $$#@ sim has more bugs than a $20 a night hotel room in New York City. I do all my flights on a VA, so I couldn't care less if it ate my logbook or not. Can't wait for the next update. I better get a fire extinguisher and put it next to my PC. 🤬 Edited April 9, 20215 yr by Bobsk8

Yes, I updated everything yesterday, in fact one of the updates was for KHBM. I see they didn't fix the potholes in the taxiways, and the extra taxi lights all over.
April 9, 20215 yr MSFS forum apparently this has been going on for a couple of days, most are losing their hours. and some their settings. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/playtime-gone-missing-packages-out-of-date/388213
April 9, 20215 yr MS2020 is still in Beta stage, and we are the beta testers, just like XP, so be patient, still a long way from being/considered a finished product. April 9, 20215 yr Moderator I just installed my new 3090 and updated the content. Flew for a few hours, then on a subsequent flight my FPS started to tank ( 10fps) - it was a slideshow. Checked all sort of stuff and nothing unusual. CPU utilization was at 35%. This went on for a few minutes and then I got the packages message. Selected yes and waited - ultimately used task manager to stop process. Restarted sim, went to same location and this time all was good, FPS around 55-60, no issues. CPU using max. Checked and my logbook was fine. Go figure........ RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

Yes, Jayne said a couple of hours ago that they are still looking to provide a solution. All the discussion is moved in this thread, and it is recommended to upvote it: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/playtime-gone-missing-packages-out-of-date/388213/203
April 9, 20215 yr It's a WIP - you have a Sim - it's working perfectly - then, it isn't. This is not News. It's Us and we have to go with it. I said it last August - we're Pioneers in to this new synthetic Environment. We are the new Virtual Aviators in a World that no-one else is exploring in quite the same way as we are. Let's revel in our time. Edited April 9, 20215 yr by Will Fly For Cheese
April 9, 20215 yr After reading this thread this morning, on loading MSFS, I went directly to the content manager. There were indeed three packages awaiting update: SWF, DFW and one of the landing challenges. I downloaded them and continued on. So far, no additional messages relating to packages, and no loss of settings or logbook hours. I assume loading the updates preemptively prevented the later message and possible loss of data.
