So far, I have no similar issues.

The problem is, when I hit "Yes" it takes me to a never ending press any key screen... at least it did last night. Its ridiculous they couldn't have done the update withhold in smoother way. Again, 4 flights I tried out of KJAC had this pop up. I just turned the PC off.

If this is just getting ready for the update, you can imagine what havoc the actual update will bring.

Your experience with MSFS seems to be up and down like a rollercoaster, Bob. One minute you are singing its praises, and the next you are calling it a POS. Which one is it?

OK, I think I fixed it.

1 Go into data and turn it on in MSFS

2. hit save. When you do that the message will pop up  Packages out of date do you want to continue, hit Yes.

3  Then you will get a screen that says HHit any key to continue. Do not do that, just close MSFS with the X in the upper right corner.

4 Restart PC, don't shut down and startup, hit Restart in Windows

5. Start MSFS. You will se the checking for updates spinning circle again, everything loads at normal speed, and market is not grayed out anymore.

6. Go to data, and you will see everything is turned on as normal.

Both, like any software program that has bugs.

I got this package out of date message earlier, clicked yes, somehow it got stuck, closed down the sim and fired up again to connect online again. Then I went to the content manager and updated these 3 packages that was complaining about and I am now back to normal.

This is exactly the same that happened to me yesterday. I clicked yes (an error, I know) and entered the loop. Had to end task in task administrator to be able to get out.

I and many others on the MSFS forum had already updated those 3 items the day before yesterday. That isn't what caused this problem.

Yea, I just received by new build today and will go about setting it up and installing MSFS this weekend; I am not looking forward to an update next week. Honestly, I think something that we should look forward to has become for many something that elicits trepidation. I wish there were fewer large updates and smaller incremental changes that address the more important issues we are all facing.

MSFS 2024. Primary Planes: Black Square TBM850, Duke, Baron, Caravan; A2A Comanche; FSReborn Phenom; Fexix A321; PMDG 737-7, 777: Utilities: Active Sky (Passive Mode); BATC, FSLTL.

they were doing smaller updates and people were still complaining. While there will alway be bugs, I really havent any which are show stoppers. I dont know why everyone hates updates. I love them, because it shows the sim is moving forward. Right before the sim came out I built a brand new system. i7 10700k @5ghz , 64gb ram 1.5gb nvme and rtx 2080s. I only have msfs, Photoshop and Capture 1 running on that system and I keep it in tip top shape, meaning no other useless app I'm nothing and keeping up with updates, so if something changes I know immediately
