Looking for old hollywood aviation movie^^

Featured Replies

Hi,

I know, I know these movies were ridicilous. Still, does anyone remember this movie were the protagonist is around 50-55 years old, very smart and with a kind of diplomatic based job who lands the aircraft (of course) safely on the airport. I think it's was not kidnaped, just half of the fuselage was fell apart and was still flyable ^^

I remember, that this guy had prior some flying lessions and knew the basics of flight. That's all that I remember, does anyone know the name of this movie? I guess I had seen it in the early 2000's on TV. Probably 1980's or 1990's production line.

This doesn't ring a bell. Sorry.

However, my favorite Hollywood aviation movie has to be "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World". The part where Jim Backus give the wheel to Buddy Hackett kills me every time.

If you've never seen this movie, do yourself a favor and watch it.

I think it has something to do with national security and the president of the us was involved ^^ Sorry, may be I will remeber some more details, it been too long in the past.

Sounds a bit like Executive Decision from 1996, starring Kurt Russell. He was just about to solo at the beginning before getting swept up in movie madness.

Sounds like Executive Decision to me. it's preposterously overblown, but it's good fun.

Interesting fact about this movie; some people were critical of this movie by claiming it was the inspiration for the 9/11 attacks and gave the terrorists the idea for what they did. I guess the people who made that stupid claim had never heard of WW2 or the Kamikaze attacks, or heard of any of the numerous hijacks of airliners in the 60s and 70s.

Crashed plane survivors are menaced by a heard of wild baboons, Sands of the Kalahari (Stewart Whitman). 1966

Crashed plane survivors have to fashion a small single engine plane from their wreckage of a much larger plane, and fly out, Flight of the Phoenix (Jimmy Stewart). 1965 Both stories are in the desert and water is scare. I get them mixed up.
