May 29, 20215 yr This thing by A1R Design Bureau is getting really good reviews. Only seems to be on Simmarket so far but should hit other stores they use like Just Flight shortly. https://www.a1r-db.com/#staSpecial Edited May 29, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick

May 29, 20215 yr Well...... It is version 1.0. Remember when the Waco 1st came out? Taxi and takeoff run can be a nail-biter. I'm sure it will get some adjustments (I hope). It's the 1st time I've run across spark control, not sure of it's use, nothing mentioned in documentation. Modeling is pretty good and represents an interesting plane. Not sorry at all that I got it, but that is with an expectation of further versions. Tail wheel lock was referred to in documentation, but I didn't see any mechanism for it's use. I will take it up again, tomorrow. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

Well in the real aircraft the "A" in the model code ST_A stood for aerobatic. No idea about the MSFS one though apparently it is easy to spin it. It also depends what you mean by aerobatics, if you mean basically mean fun to toss about with loops and aileron rolls like most gamers do it is different to wanting to reproduce actual competitive aerobatics with aileron rolls stopping at specific angles at precise times and starting again and precise Immelmanns at exactly 90 degrees as you roll over. BTW - the spark retard thing on the real aircraft was apparently for hand starting Edited May 29, 20215 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
May 29, 20215 yr Not into aerobatics myself and I don't enjoy planes like the Extra 330 myself, way too sensitive for my flying enjoyment. So if it's in that vein it's probably not for me, but if it's more like a spitfire or corsair which you can still throw around but still fun for some cross country flying as well then yeah maybe. Not sure if those 2 birds are the best comparison per se but my use would be for hopping between GA fields.

I am only flying the FD and Spit so this fits very well untill the DC-6 comes out. I might well buy it. Found this, it sounds fine. Edited May 29, 20215 yr by Nyxx David Murden. May 29, 20215 yr Link to manual IRL one. http://www.airminded.net/st/staosm.html Starting the Engine Turn fuel cock shut off handle to reserve position. (Note: Engine should be allowed to run, taking fuel from reserve line until take off is made and a safe altitude reached. The shut-off valve may then be turned to use fuel from the main line. When landing turn valve to reserve position dial.) Retard spark. Set mixture control to full rich position. If engine is cold, turn propeller over three to four revolutions with ignition switch "OFF". Pump throttle two to six strokes depending on the weather conditions. If engine is warm no pumping of throttle is required. turn magneto swith to "BOTH ON" position. Open throttle 1/8 or less and turn crank handle slowly simulating hand pull through of propeller. Do not spin. (Note: Failure of engine to start is frequently due to overpriming. If overpriming is suspected, turn ignition swith to "OFF" position, open throttle wide and turn engine over at least six revolutions. Then return throttle to 1/4 open position and continue normal starting procedure.) Warm up engine before take off at 600-800 r.p.m. with retarted spark. Recommend oil temperature of 160 deg F.; maximum permissible 200 deg F. Stopping the Engine Close throttle after engine dies cut switch. Then fuel shut off handle to "BOTH OFF" position.
