PILOT’S Bringing Clipper to MSFS, Coming Soon

Featured Replies

I'm flying it extensively in P3D. Having it in MSFS is excellent.

I posted in the Screenshot forum concerning this release Pilot’s should do the whole cabin.  They said they’d consider it.  Many of us have been sourcing reference material for them.  In FS2020 this would be an amazing release with the full cabin done seeing as we’ve never seen a fully modeled B314 clipper before in any version of FS.  There’s no real world models left so this would have a wide appeal to early aviation enthusiasts.  You take a cabin with custom wing/cabin views and it’s all but like an Indiana Jones movie.  The books mentioned above are great reads on the subject.  The B314 was the 744/A380 of it’s day and it would be a shame not to see the full version of it in a sim that’s so capable of rendering it with no performance hit.  I’d personally wait a little longer for Pilots to pull this off.

That's a plane I'll be interested in messing with. By contrast with modern equipment the things were insane. The wings had catwalks inside them for the engineer to go fix the engines while it was still flying. Which was good because they conked out a *lot*. Wonder if almost routine engine failures will be simulated in this release. 😉

We now need water droplets and particles. Hopefully this will be implemented.)

Pan Am clipper crews wore formal dark blue uniforms and dress white hats based on the US Navy officers uniforms. This crew marched side by side in step to board for all flights. Each plane was individually named just as if it were a sailing ship. An international flight ticket cost more than the price of a new car, but less than a new house.

Full cabin? Who cares? What’s the point? I could think of many more things to include then a cabin you’d barely use.

Others like full cabins and even in FSX devs had a choice of model in the airplane selection menu - with our without the cabin.

For a plane like this with such luxurious and interesting interior I feel they should do a detailed cabin. Wish it was possible to have a mini game within the cabin where we could be one of the FAs serving food, cleaning etc Would add awesomely to the immersion on long flights. And if im not mistaken the captains on these things would make trips to the cabin to meet passengers.

Sadly, only 13 of these fantastic aircraft were ever constructed and they are all gone now.

On a happier note, a full-sized mockup was constructed and can be visited in Foynes, Ireland;
