I see some are showing nice clouds and yes I am getting same up to some 5000-6000 feet or maybe bit higher, but above that they look horrible. So for some reason without EA looks good enough at all levels. One problem I am noticing today, FPS are dropping during flight and in cruise (?!). Can't figure why. I could be at EHAM at the gate and FPS are as high as they could be. But once in the air and after 1 or so hrs they drop to 35-40. Not a huge deal but wondering where could be the problem. I did full installation so not sure should I attempt Client repair to remedy some small issues. Also pressing brakes produces pause for second or so. Other than that smooth and nice. No EA and VC is bright enough, not as should be but better. Alex
June 25, 20214 yr Is the dreaded DX Device_Hung error still happening? I went back to 4.5 for the time being but would love to give 5.2 another try if the error is fixed. Thanks.

Exactly, I had the error with old drivers and a wrongly overclocked GPU (GTX 1080Ti). I've installed latest NVIDIA 471.11 and removed the OC and all's good now. SN737

Is this strictly a GPU memory issue because I think I have lots of headroom with 4 out of 10 gigs used on the card. Mark CYYZ

June 27, 20214 yr What can I say, my PC runs everything perfectly fine, including P3D v4.5. I can fly all day without any crashes. With v5 I might get lucky and be able to complete one flight without it crashing. (yes, my 1080 is factory overclocked) and believe me, I tried a lot of suggestions including a ton of different drivers and registry tweaks Nothing worked. I simply went back to P3D v4. So basically you are saying, the device hung crash is still a thing in 5.2?

Most updates are under the hood. If you have a good looking fluent 4.5 it can be as much enjoyable as a 5.2. So basically you are saying, the device hung crash is still a thing in 5.2? My 1080TI works beautifully with 5.2. So much better than with 5.1! I have literally zero crashes to desktop or crashes of any kind. I'm using the latest Nvidia driver and all of my sliders are full right with the exception of draw distance (on High). I have considered getting one of the "3" graphics cards, but with the unavailability and lackluster reviews, I've decided to hold off until I have my whole computer upgraded from Jetline Systems. I believe the system built around the 1080 contributes much to the overall success of the computer handling the flight sim challenges. I do love my 1080 though! Stan
June 29, 20214 yr Small thing, but The Avatar does not chrash /stop into the aircraft when you have a walkaorund in 5.2 Thor Thor H

Stan i also have better stability in 5.2 mainly because of headroom in VRAM. My EVGA GTX1080TI FTW3 could make my system unstable (Power surge issue with total restart of PC) so i use Nvidia Inspector to set target temp at 70c making it use the vents more and it actually has helped alot.
