Looks like I was wrong on both counts.

The world (or this forum) does not revolve around your personal grievance with posters that criticize XP.

You can name me in posts. and make comments about wising up etc. None of that has any impact on my (or other's) opinions about XP, or our desire to share them on this forum.

Even your post here...has you placing blame elsewhere. Sometimes, you do much better just sitting on the sidelines cheering everyone else on with "likes".

To be scrupulously fair I do think they had grounds for questioning my motives for posting the question. The irony is that on this occasion I asked it in good faith! I genuinely wanted to know the answer because I didn't have X-Plane installed and had no idea.😂 Still, lesson learnt.

Seriously? If they patch it into 11, they have less for 12 and as it seems there won't be much else for 12. Maybe some new clouds, maybe a few more houses. That would be reason enough for me if I were in their place at least.

They're probably biting themselves for giving Vulkan away for free 😛

My reply was actually pretty on point. Jarmstro suggested that XP and Meyer should part ways, the implied thing being that MSFS has more available resources than LR.

Since I think the main value of Meyer is his expertise on flight models, I simply pointed out why it would be a bad idea for him to depart LR.

But I am ready to admit that I shouldn't have mentioned MSFS (I should have written "the competing sims"), although as I said it was just a reaction to jarmstro implicitely comparing LR to MS/Asobo.

Now, talking about what history shows, shall we retrieve all the old threads in which MSFS was firstly brought up by the same few people, everytime? Did you miss them?

Well I dare say the Mouthpieces of Meyer think they know. But they pretend it's a secret. It all seems pretty amateurish.

To me, it doesn't really matter the intent behind the question, the answer is still the same.

Will it be in a future beta? Will it be in XP12? The issue is still the same with LR not engaging with the community. No, they don't have to...but the sim community (planes, trains, and automobiles) are now lookging for that engagement given that sims are never really complete upon first release.

IT is a known fact that any improvements visually / performance wise would be in xp12 period.

@Murmur , I don't see forums as an "us" vs "them" with respect to the sims. "You" came in "here" to post etc.

I don't have stock in the developer, and I am not a 3P Dev for any of the platforms. If you say that you don't like something about a particular platform, fine. I can agree, disagree, or agree to disagree....but this collective persecution of a poster that says something negative about a platform is ridiculous.

With respect to LR...Austin has always been "in the dark" per se with respect to where he was taking the sim and  Coupled with sluggish development and years gone by, I just don't think that goes over well today as the community is getting more and more used to real engagement and frequent development.

A teaser vid showing lighting weeks ago, and these betas where the changelog is basically the "same log" is uninspiring. No real communication about what is coming and general timeframe just leave more room for more devs and users alike to look elsewhere.

 

The arguing will stop.....unless you like long vacations from the site "with no access'!
