Meyer (without the "s") is mainly responsible for the flight model, coding of physics and weather dynamics, and things like that.

The visuals (which I reckon is 90% of what you care about) are done by Ben and a few other coders.

Luckily, Meyer didn't sell LR to someone else, otherwise XP by now could have ended up having a flight model like MFS or such.

Depends on who it's sold to.

So you'd need to find someone else with 30 years+ experience in developing flight simulation.

Whereas you'll likely end up with someone who has 30 years+ making games like a plagues tale and toy story 3......

Lack of timely investment and a three bods in a shed mentality is the problem. Sell LR to a company with the drive, the will and resources to do it justice.

That's funny.

Funny? Have you any better suggestion? Or is your ostrich head too deeply buried in the sand.😀

Oh, you were serious??

Do I have any better suggestions for Austin??

No.  He's run a profitable, multi million dollar company, pretty much on his own, with a staff fewer than 20.  And he's consistently made a profit.  Why would I suggest anything??

But equally it could have had ended up with both the flight model of XP and the visuals of MSFS which is surely what we all want.

And therein lies the problem. MS pulled the plug on FSX and Meyer's had free reign. But no longer. He sat back on his laurels in my opinion. So many businesses make the same mistake.

Austin has run LR the same way for 30 years, while hiring essential staff along the way.  More staff doesn't necessarily mean faster progress.  You can disagree if you want.  Austin has been doing it this way for 30 years.  Successfully.  Who is anyone to question that?

Well, how great that we have MSFS to tide you over your loss. Now that you deleted X-Plane can we entertain the hope that you will also stop perusing the related fora and enjoy your much better looking and faster developed simulator?

Have fun and happy landings!

I am. I have been in business for 40 years.

Congratulations.  Do you have a net worth running in the tens of millions of dollars?

I don't understand, John.  You've deleted X-Plane completely.  Your question has been answered.  Why are you still here debating?
