October 8, 20214 yr Since Win 10 I am using StartIsBack to get the best of the OS without the annoying "boxes" and the unfriendly menus and UI. There is a new version called StartAllBack which does the same for Win11. Pricing is very cool, US$ 5. October 8, 20214 yr I don't mind any of the UI changes, except the right click context menu hiding additional options behind an extra button click. Oh and centred task bar, but that can be changed easily to back to the left side. Edited October 8, 20214 yr by Tuskin38

October 11, 20214 yr Once I got the "right click" info box straightened out with the mentioned Reg hack, everything else if fine for me. Yet when I take it out of sleep I automatically move my mouse to the far left to hit "start" and it's not there, but I find that to be a small niggle. Windows 11 security has a negative impact on gaming (and not only) performance, even on 11th series CPUs. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/windows-11-gaming-benchmarks-performance-vbs-hvci-security You can imagine the impact on older CPUs... if you remember Spectre and Meltdown countermeasures. You can still disable VBS and VHCI but... update Windows then disable the new security features spend 5 $ to have the old start menu taskbar functionality remains crippled anyway file manager is laggy DirectStorage will be available on Windows 10 too Windows 10 will be supported and receive updates until October 2025 So why update now? Rounded windows corners? Is it really worth it? No thanks, my monitor does not have rounded corners. I will wait until they make everything as the community demands. October 11, 20214 yr I haven’t noticed any performance decreases in any of my games. It’s possible my machine is powerful enough that it’s not noticeable. Still haven’t had any issues with Windows 11. To me it just feels like 10 with an UI refresh. Edited October 11, 20214 yr by Tuskin38
