France VFR Landmarks and Obstacles...

Featured Replies

Interesting!  This arrived without a splash today.  I spotted it over at Orbx while I was considering a few sales purchases.  Looks like it has been released just today.

It seems Just Flight and Aerosoft  might be selling it as well.  A bit expensive, but it looks good and covers the whole country.  Tens of thousands of objects.  Pylons, masts, lighthouses, water towers etc.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

This would have been strictly impossible a couple of years ago. Times are changing...

And no, there's no incompatibility between ORBX and VFR France in MSFS (recall the adventures to get them working together under P3D?).

Kind regards, Michael

I feel this has been out a while on the marketplace. @bobcat999 how close to EGBB are you. I grew up in Sheldon pretty much on the 15 threshold. Spent most of my time spotting on Marston Green and Hatchford Brook golf courses.

Great quality but way too expensive 😞

Looks great, but will wait for sale.

Cool idea hopefully they do other areas.

500,000 landmarks to the scenery...that's some effort. The price scares me off somewhat, especially when we already have PuffinFlights excellent We Love VFR mods, still nice to see and if the price dramatically drops in a sale one day I may grab it and it'll be interesting to see what other countries they do similar with (UK would be very tempting)

For information you will find an old product FranceVFR. I have this product since its release December 2020.  https://www.francevfr.com/product_orvframsfs.php
Nothing new as always after many months after the official release of a product, ORBX gets a partnership with a developer (FranceVFR) to put their product on their store.
ORBX is becoming more and more a distributor and less a developer.

It does look like it would be a great immersion boost to flying in France, but ooof,  that price. Maybe on sale…

That would explain the lack of quality in some of "their" releases recently, think they need to up their QoL game.

Ha! Brilliant.  Just a few miles down the M42. Kings Norton. I used to play Hatchford Brook just to be next to the aircraft movements.

I virtually grew up in the old terminal watching all the Inex-Adria, Orion Airways, Britannia, and Spantax charters on a Sunday. Great days!   If MSFS ever had a feature to turn the clock back with historic AI traffic, that would just about put the cherry on top!
