Also the only mods that will work are ones released via the Market Place.

If people want the mods, they will find a way to get them working. Thats close to being a natural law of software, at this point.

Exactly!

Consider also that the new X-Box will run exactly the same SW than the PC , with same date release for upgrades and with access to put the same MODS. And it will support the same peripherals yoke, pedals, joy stick.....This is not just a play box for kids..ere simming with decent performance.

Not true, most peripherals will probably not work with X box.

I get 60 FPS in MSFS with everything set on ultra 90% of the time. The real bummer is when I fly out of JFK and my FPS jumps down to a horrid 40 FPS. 😉 This sim runs incredibly well, whenever I see someone posting that they're having problems, I always reply that its most likely the PC. I had lots of issues early on with CTDs, until someone was nice enough to suggest I check my XMP settings in the BIOS. Sure enough, that was it. I think what it comes down to -- most times, its something to do with the PC, not the software. Sure, anything can crash and often does. Just last night I lost a LOT of work in photoshop because it crashed, and that software is ancient.

yes, and how much does your pc cost, here we talk about 300 - 500 machines.

lol, you obviously dont know much about consoles.

they will only work if ms provides them.

This is my concern.  How will mods that require 3rd party interfaces to load handle X-Box?  I'm thinking 3rd party weather, even the -47 Heli requires an external app, Fenix is going to be running theoretically with aspects being done outside MSFS, how does XBox handle all of those scenarios?

And you've obviously never played on a console against somebody in god-mode or etc.

Software will be in sync between xbox and PC versions but I'm betting that some extravagant mods will be PC only.   The same thing happens for the Farming sim community where so many mods are for PC only and will not work for the xbox.  Maybe that changes for the newer Xbox consoles, but the hardware is permanent other than changing the entire console so if new features and other addons are taxing, will be interesting to see if the consoles can keep up.

It doesn’t, nothing that requires an .EXE to work will ever run on the Xbox. The only executables allowed will be Wasm or Javascript.

Wasm is severerly limited because is sandboxed and any product that requires access to files outside its own package won’t work. That’s why access to the complete airport data through Simconnect or other new methods is currently the N.1 requested feature for the SDK.

Thank you as always, that was my personal assumption but I'm rarely correct...  That's a huge hole for XBox as far as I am concerned regardless of peripheral support etc.

If I had to repurchase most of my MSFS addons (only one I own was bought from the Marketplace) as well as MSFS itself (having bought from Steam) in order to use Xbox it just wouldn’t be worth it. Much of the money saved on the cheaper console would be spent repurchasing software. Perhaps over time they can figure out a way to avoid this, but I’m not holding my breath.

Really?  I thought the sim and marketplace purchases were already freely transferable between PC and Xbox?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Not  the sim if bought on Steam.
