I've set this to  "legacy" but my free-look with the right mouse button no longer works - can only see dead ahead - anyone else with this issue?

Thanks!

Yes! I'm having some strange behavior and have now lost my cockpit freelook using the right mouse click. Also getting random camera view changes and just suffered from a near seizure inducing flashing effect almost like my views were trying to change back and forth rapidly. Hmmm..

Thank you, I was going crazy looking for it.

I have no legacy option...but I have "default" and "profile" mode under the mouse in controls options.

Might want to disconnect your other controllers until you have successfully switched to Legacy mode.

Not in Control Options.                  Go to Options>Accessibility. It's the setting above tooltips. Locked or Legacy.

What I would like to know, is what was the purpose of the blue light and the mouse not being to do anything? Just to make users crazy?

I found unplugging my gamepad fixed the issue - but I use this for the drone so not ideal...

The new (default) mouse option is called “Lock” mode, and it actually works quite well - but not unless you go to the mouse settings and define the left and right mouse buttons and scroll wheel to work in lock mode. These assignments are not done automatically, which absolutely should have been done by Asobo if they were going to use this as the default mouse behavior. You need to assign the left and right buttons as “primary” and “secondary”, and the wheel as an “up/down” manipulator.

The advantage of lock mode (when properly set up) come into play when trying to rotate a control (like heading select) in turbulence. In “legacy” mouse mode, unless you hold the mouse pointer directly on the heading knob, rotating the mouse wheel to adjust it won’t work. This can be difficult to do when the VC is moving up or down or side-to-side in turbulence.

With the new “lock” mode, (when properly set up), you would first left click on the headIng select knob, which will cause it to become highlighted in blue. You can then rotate the mouse wheel to adjust the heading, and the pointer does not have to be held directly over the knob. The pointer can be anywhere. To unselect the heading knob you would left click again, (or right click).

This is actually a useful feature, but because the mouse buttons and wheel are not automatically bound to the correct assignments for lock mode on initial installation of SU5, it appears to not do anything (other than highlight the knob) if you attempt to use it “out of the box”. If you see a question mark in the tool tip that pops up, the assignments are not set correctly.

The tool tips can also now be disabled for instruments and controls, which was not possible before.

Seems like it might be related to my Honeycomb yoke.  It was happening again and once I unplugged it it stopped.  That's a bit of an issue but I will try to disable all view functions on the yoke to see if that helps...
