CPU is getting hot

Turn "Menu Tooltips" and "Instrument Name Tooltips" off.

Problem is I used to find the instrument tooltips actually useful, especially when setting a course needle on analog gauges to get exact course numbers entered. With this update they seem to have added tooltips for everything plus whatever that stupid blue eye and arrow is.

This is misleading. I'm not trying to call you out here, just making the point for other simmers who may now be having kittens because their CPU is reaching 80c. To be clear, in the vast majority of cases, 80c is absolutely fine and literally nothing to worry about.

OK I will take you word for it. 🙂 So why is mine and Ixoye who as the same as me also seeing what I see? How do you explain that? Just would like to know why we both run so cool? Just asking to understand how?

Cpu can go as high as 90C, and only when it gets above will it thermal throttle or shut off…… nothing to worry about at 80C. Same with graphics cards.
If you’re bothered by it, get better cooling, or wait for cooler weather.

No, genuinely. Life's too short to fall out with people on here 👍😁

I don't know why your temperatures are so low. Enjoy them!

I added a smile I was just asking you why nothing else, sorry I did try it make that point. I just wanted you to tell me why we are so low. Not questioning what you said. Hopefully thats now super clear.

Mine are higher than 80°C after the update. I was happy with them <= 80°C.

The only message I get on HWinfo is IA Limit Reasons. Is that a bad thing? I am sure it's not good but is it bad for hardware?

Maybe because you guys using a 10900k and others have different CPU. 10850k and 10900k are not the same cpu and 10850k is known for having trouble with temps at higher core speeds. You're also using water cooling on a cpu that is merciful torwards temps, i am using fan air on a cpu that is not merciful towards temps. If you know how I can get my stuff running more efficient on my current setup, I will take any advise 🙂

I have now limited fps to 40 and HT on again and max temp is 82° on the one core others cores below 80°C. Not super happy with that but better than before. I hope I don't have to limit fps to 25 in a couple of months to still be able to maintain temps below 80°c

My I7-4770K@4,5 is still running after more than 5 years between 70-90c and properly about 75-80c in average in sim.

But i dont know anything about the newer types of CPU and there workpace

My default 10900k non-oc with HT OFF runs at around 55-65C and my GPU around 65-69C. Ambient room temperature in my room is around 79F. My sim is running in 4k Ultra settings. After SU5 CPU temps have gone up, before it use to be around 45-55C. Which means my CPU is actually being used.
