Featured Replies

Not that buildings "pop up" (which some of them do, like trees here and there...) But wery oftenly, the buildings/terminals and houses just dissaper? Empty aprons, empty suburbans etc...

I also saw this at CDG airport today, along with a lot of stuttering while taxiing. Total garbage.

Is this a default airport, or 3rd party?

Asking because there are some changes in SU5 related to lod and etc that some third parties have apparently not caught up with, yet.

They will fix that. No need to add so many epithets to garbage XD. All those necessary adjustments for XbOX smoothness hit us somehow, but are far from unfixable, in fact they can  code different mechanics depending on the platform, scale them or allow us to scale them and I bet it will happen.

I saw it at EGNX when testing the sim out its a default airport. Not seen it do it to paywear airports. I dont use default unless testing. So with the flights ive done so far all paywear have been fine.

So Asobo made lots of changes but didn't test all 30,000 airports in the world to make sure a building was not missing? Scandalous!

Actually, this update is the worst from a developer standpoint, they pretty much 100% broke airport development. Aprons are malfunctioning, you can no longer place buildings without compiling and entirely reloading, they increased the grass height at some places for seemingly no reason and they changed the grass rendering. Animations are malfunctioning, and some airports getting CTD unexplainably, LOD's changed and now devs have to recompile many airports. Many of the textures are no longer blending correctly, and randomly there are artifacts and false borders where none were before. That is just a few of the issues, the list is too long to cover.

It's like in all previous SDK updates, you might see 1-3 of these issues crop up, but in this update, they packaged every single issue into one massive "hee-haw" update.

I'm not even touching any projects until either several hot fixes or they release another version, from a dev standpoint this version is really messed up. That said, it's happened before (not this bad though), so I am confident they will issue fixes soon.

That's a very interesting insight, thank you. Always forget those poor developers and their Sisyphos work. One can only hope that this is the "last" major change for the next years, since the XBOX is there now and performance is broadly increased.
I have to agree, however, that the most annoying things (for players, too) are the little non-documented changes that have absolutely no obvious reason, like e.g. that you cannot hold right mouse button to look around anymore and work your throttles. That's like the opposite of QOL changes...

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Fully agree to that statement,🙏🙏🙏 Your critisism is spot on! This SU5 is like 3 steps forward and 17 backward... at least!

I guess it's how one looks at things. I just landed at Kbos and the roofs are floating.

I laughed. 🙃
