The only issue left between SU4 and SU5 for me in this regard is that panning comes to a halt as the mouse passes over a switch or button. What are you using to pan? I can use my right stick on my Xbox controller to pan around freely, same if I just press the mouse wheel and just move it around freely. I can also press and hold the right mouse button to pan around also. Never had it halt over a button or switch

Concerning the hot fix, nothing on the big washout of colors and nothing about the absurd lightning galore. A good question from @edpatino : how big the fix after a 60 GB SU5 ? I had posted a video of the Xbox lod which introduced popin when not set up correctly. That video was reported and taken down. That is the build pmdg is talking about. Because the devs and testers were complaining, asobo sent us a build reverting back to the su4 lod to give the complainers time to fix.

Most developers have been developing for other sims in the past and LOD's is not exactly a new thing. Developers who have skimped on that will have the chance to correct that. If they do not bother updating their products we should not bother buying their products again. Perhaps MS also should have implemented a kind of quality control for the marketplace but there might be valid arguments against such control as well. I definitely do not want the PC version to use the same stripped down LOD system as the X-Box consoles. That would be a major downgrade for us. PC and X-Box are not even in the same playing field. One has simple hardware config among each and every device, while the PC is much more complex due to the different hardware setups that each and everyone of us has. PC needs it's own LOD system, because our systems or more complex. July 30, 20214 yr Unfortunately, the way Asobo communicated the information about the LOD reversion in this update seemed to have created much more confusion than it resolved...it's a confusing and rather technical issue, sure, but I wish they'd been a little clearer that the reversion has in fact already happened, which would resolve at least half of that confusion. I've read those sentences multiple times and it sure sounds like they're talking about the next update -- which I know from reading everything else here that they certainly didn't mean. In any case, exciting that down the road we may get even more performance improvements. Albeit at the cost of making a lot of work for some addon developers... James

July 30, 20214 yr There are many new developers on the market and a lot of junk content. What is the developer's motivation to change something? If objects appear in the field of view a little later, this is not a big deal.
