Now I will wait till SU6 is out.....than my VRAM will be back at 16GB to utilize my 3090 GPU

Nobody forced you to waste money on an overpriced GPU.

And now show us screenshots without custom cfg hacks. That is definitely not vanilla su5

It is for some, and perhaps many.

Interesting as I’ve not had a CTD since I had my 3080 replaced. But when I decided to do a flight, I set the DC6 up and was going for a push back so when to out side view started paning  around and BANG CTD.

Was it a livery loaded with the PMDG Ops Center or one from the .to freeware site which needs editing the aircraft.cfg ?

For what it is worth, my dc-6 has been stable so far.

And I'm concerned that we simmers are really not their market anymore.....

I am glad that the sim is out for Xbox! While I will keep using my PC for flight-simulation, I also have a Series S and the sim looks very good there as well.

Besides, we are much more their market than what the regular simmer is for Lockheed Martin, which does not even provide a proper license for us!

We are aware that the P3D Forum (and ecosystem) is mostly a ghost town these days, so perhaps you were a bit bored and decided to troll us in this section. In any case, here is a recommendation for you: kindly go back to your simulator of choice and make good (barely legal) use of it...

Just finished reading this thread and it’s a pity it is early in the morning here. Otherwise I would have enjoyed it with an  🍎 as 🍿 is bad for you teeth … 😀

Looking at my own experience with MSFS from december till now : I agree that some parts have been optimized and others have been made worse.

Also on my 2 pc’s this last update has made it less stable and the scenery looks not as good as before the update + Hf.

It is out now for a year and imho it looks very nice but it still is not were I thought it would be today.

Like many wrote : 3 steps forward , 2 steps back.

I really thought that by now weather was working well, we would have AI traffic with real liveries and I was looking forward for multi monitor support.

Also I do not want to get into “tweak simulator” ; just use the sliders and that’s it.

The XBox release surely was important for MS as they exist to make money. And we are not their first target as we are a niche group of pc simmers.
So it is normal that their top priority is to get the XBox version up and running which they did.

From this moment on till end of the year we will know if MSFS will change for the good for us or that development remains as it is now with issues.

Myself, I have the possibility of using P3Dv5 as my “driving sim” on a client and use MSFS with my 2 view pc’s to show the MSFS outside world.

I do hope that it will be better, not only for myself but for all MSFS pc simmers …..

This isnt a dig at you at all but this isn't FS9 or FSX. I have no intention of getting into the business of modding cfg or core files anymore.

We are clearly going this way and I hate it too.I set the colorgradation and eye adaptation to null and added a touch of Nvidia game filters.

I draw a line in the sand though, no affinity mask, process lasso or exotic stuff of that kind.🤣

How do you get your UserCfg settings to stick, readonly?

Mine aren't sticking. I do have the "custom" word in the first name.

Don't worry the Xp foray has joined into also. This place is just a s#$T show for the MSFS bashing for now. Not healthy for the community as they say. If you don't own a 3080 or 3090 your a low class citizen. Avsim has become douchery and has been for a while  (from the Enlist, Mods, Admins and developers) YEAH I SAID IT.

Mine aren't sticking. I do have the "custom" word in the first name.

The big problem with these forums at the moment is some people offer an idea to a problem and that should be applauded like scotegg listed his why of getting the sim to look like pre 5, we should not have to, but atleast thats a construtive reply to a problem.

As for the  UserCfg file, I have never made mine read only and as you know my setting dont stick, the only thing you could try is to have the file open get the sim to load real utra setting then set to read only, then change the setting within you  UserCfg. But if you need to go back to your sim UI to change your setting it will have not been saved.

If you do fine a way people share, I think you only get the "custom" when you have changed the setting within the sim UI as it changers the title at the top from XXXX to custom. I think harry and Chris said the setting dont stick.

A few people on here like scotsegg named you twice (hehe) says there setting stick, I have no reason to not believe them, I just wish we could all come together and communicate better and pull together as the one thing we all share is we love our simming with MSFS. Could we find a reason why theres stick and some dont?

Comment like "its becasue you set your UserCfg to read only" as a blanket reply that imply we all do and thats why everyones setting are not sticking or replying to someone who is now getting CTD with "well I dont get them" drive me crazy, If you went to the Doctors becasue you have bad headaches and the Dotors reply was "I dont have then!" would not be the best reply would it? or what your wanted to hear. Think............

Its all way am taking a break, am sure at some point it will all be fixed but an not going to spend days frustrated becasue I dont know if a CTD is a livery/airport or a SU5 bug.....or go through a dance every time I want to use Ultra setting as saddly mine dont stick.

Well said!

Only saw this thread just now... Bit surprised that Marcus was able to refrain from mentioning P3D until his post about P3D having a better LOD (sic) on page 3 of this thread.

For those unaware, Marcus used to be the primary L-M cheerleader in the Avsim P3D forum and if a similar thread would be started over there he would immediately have asked mods to close the thread "to avoid creating confusion".

Oh well ...

To be fair, with DX12 VRAM capacity is very important.

So a 3090 or any card with plenty of VRAM is a solid investment.
